Here is a master builder who passed away last year.  It is interesting to see kids crowd around him, and the various models (even small ones) hanging on the walls.

Guess the design purposefully brings the prop to stop in a particular position (vertical), so that it can be stowed away.  If the prop stopped in a horizontal position, it would not go back inside the fuse.
