@anwar sir,
It might interest members to know just how many of them are:
1. Experts
2. Advanced
3. Intermediate
4. Beginners

Surely your database can spring this answer. (Google's spider may already know!)

Iyer sir

Expert i guess is more like a state of mind, i dont think rate at at which this hobby has advanced anyone can call themselves expert anymore, IMHO
Gusty's Hangar and Introduction.

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

Iyer sir; as the proficiency level is self-declared, this poll would have no meaning.

I have seen innumerable members call themselves Intermediate, Advanced etc. when it is obvious from their posts that they lack any fundamentals. Those who are in this category, and read this will identify themselves.

IMHO for a flyer to move to Intermediate from Beginner, he should be able to consistently clear the B Certificate level as prescribed by BFMA & AIMA.

If anyone wants more details these are available on the AIMA website, and the BFMA site.

I will eat my Himachali topi if even 25% of the self-styled Intermediate flyers can do this  8)

Sir, could you post the links to these sites?

Hence query modified as below:

Then how about a thread for encouraging members to post their proficiency level by posting videos of them doing such routines  ;D , but specifically for IMAC/ Precision kinda flying. As usual, those who knows better can always guide them correct their mistakes. Freestyle I think we already have a thread  :headscratch: I guess.

This might help everyone of us more informed about such standards, tests and skills IMHO (or at least that what I intended to say).

Who said RC skills is all about flying ? :)

I was believer in that camp, until I realized that true skill is modeling... and flying is only secondary.

The "self assessed" skill level that people post here when they sign up is just a pointer.  I have seen many people misuse it, and many others not claim the level they deserve. I have to say one of the worst examples was that "Saha" guy.

The best we can do is to point out obvious mistakes from one another.

@anwar sir,
This is a simple RTI type query to satisfy my curiosity, viz,
How do we rate ourselves? What's our self opinion?
Please indulge me.
It may tell us something about ourselves.
(I'm not going into whether our self assessment is right or not)
Thanks.

Anwar bhai, you do have a point. If RC skills = aeromodelling/boat/train etc. skills, then there is a whole lot more

Iyer sir, what exactly are you saying here? It doesn't make logical sense. I think whenever you post late night this happens  :giggle: :giggle: >:D

this is what rightly said by anwar sir.. i truly believe that skill is dependent on person.
