The WIKI has been retired due to insufficient/inappropriate usage.

We have added a new feature to RC India, a Wiki !   {:)}

If you have experience editing Wikipedia articles, then put those skills to good use helping the RC community of India (and the world!).  We use the same software as Wikipedia, named "MediaWiki".  The Wiki can be accessed from the main menu of RC India.

The following Wiki entry has more details.

Since we are getting more and more enthusiastic youngsters (and no so youngsters too ;) ) on the RC India, I am trying to revive the Wiki effort once more.

There is no other Wiki for RC with an Indian context, and this would really help summarize information in one place.  We see time and again newcomers asking the same questions, and we are doing what we can to send them to the right threads, but it would really help to have the information from the various threads summarized in an FAQ manner.

Accessing the Wiki could not have been simpler, as the login is integrated with the forum.

Editing article is similar to editing the world's encyclopedia : http://www.wikipedia.com .  Basic editing involves using the "=" sign and "square brackets".  Some samples are below.

== First level sub-heading ==

===  Second level sub-heading ===

[[ Create an internal link ]]      (Note that this can be used to create a new page also!)

[ http://www.external.com/link  Link to external page ]

With the above 4 basic editing structures, you can create elaborate articles.  More help with editing is available at :

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Formatting
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Links

I request and urge everyone to spend at least a few minutes every week on this effort. If it has enough information, we can just send users to these links, instead of forcing them to read multiple threads for certain bits of information.

Hi Anwar,
Sorry for writing this in this section.
I was going through one wiki section "What kind of radio should I buy?" there i saw "A beginners flying an airplane would require mostly 5 channels and an electric helicopter will mostly require 6 channels."
in most of the post i saw that a beginner can fly with just three channels i.e. throttle elev and rudder.. i think there might be many other corrections needed in the wiki and a review is required. i am not aware if this review is usually done or not.

There are two sections which can be clubbed into one:
Beginners Dictionary - RC Terminology
Full Forms of RX, TX, CG, LG, LiPo, NiMH, ESC etc

Please feel free to edit anything you find possibly incorrect.  That is the beauty of a Wiki... these should be living documents.
