Lol vc.... Out of the 150 pages of members, 100 pages are people who haven't posted even once.... All the active guys are just a handful, say 50-70 or so... :-\

Wondering if it is a good idea to separate "Buy/Sell" posts from the overall forum discussion? This will make it easy for users who are interested in "Buy/Sell" or forum discussion only and probably have a top menu item to show all posts just like it is right now. Just an idea...

here's a suggestion! lets make it that if we type @[username] then it will notify him that [XYZ] mentioned you in a post, like facebook, also/or, if someone quotes you, it will notify the user that he/she has bee quoted....(this can be toggled)

also, how about a button next to the "go down" or "go up" which reads like, jump to first page of thread or jump to last page of thread...?

hope it helps!!

I will assume that this is so it's easier to privately converse with others...

but then what's the point? a forum is a place where you share your knowledge, not discuss it in private... the reason we have a forum, is so that once an expert teaches a beginner, the conversation is all there for others to read... every doubt which someone asks, has already been answered a number of times... if you have a question, use Google. still don't find the answer, search popular forums.. still no answer, then you post on a forum so experts may help you, and create a thread which other beginners can stumble upon... if you add voice calling, then all we will be doing is privately conversing.. that defeats the purpose of a OPEN forum... private conversation should be kept strictly for personal or confidential matters... if you're discussing something relevant to the topic, then keeping it public will benefit everyone...

OK that's it, lecture over... :P

Well said Aniket!  {:)}

If one prefers to talk rather than type, there are programs for that.

As for the rest, why be on a forum?

Sir one little request:
As you know, every time someone posts in a topic you are following, you get an email notification. Would it be possible to include the text of the post within this email itself?

There's an option that lets you do that.

It is already in your profile settings, please enable the appropriate checkbox.

It is at the bottom of the front page.  Whoever wants to use it can easily find it there.

Hi Anwar,
A simple suggestion.
It would be good if we could have an option of removing the Sold out products from the Same thread.
Lets says if a person posts 5 products for sale, its quite difficult for every intended buyer to go to the end of the thread to know what products are still left.
Its a pain from the seller end too to post the remaining items every time. Was it already discussed before?

I have one more suggestion it would be great if the rcindia page would autorefresh if a new reply or anything like that or in a minute as I everytime  have to refresh it to see whether a new reply is given or not
it might beva problem for thoee who have slow net so add this as an option

here's a suggestion... put ads at the bottom of each thread also... maybe it will increase the funding, and we can expect awesome giveaways for next year(wink wink)  :P;);)

@anwar
Can youmake the 1st page recently updated scrollable through several dates?
Often spend hours in a day, but sometimes none.
So miss that day's posts.
It wouldbe great if we could go down and down.
At least a few days (months)!
Regards

The main menu has both "Recent Posts" (same as the blue icon mentioned) and "Recent Topics".  They scroll for many many pages, pick whichever one works for you.

can we redesign the look of the site? with a black bg with a thin orange stripe on the left and a green stripe on the right? it makes reading easier on the eyes....

I personally find the present layout easy on the eyes  and readable.

hmmm.... no, i said that because, by default lcd /led screens are like lights... if you have a lot of lights around a dark spot, it's harder to see the dark spot. on a screen, black is the "off" pixels ie those pixes are not powered. so its easier to read the few pixels that are powered. it doesnt strain the eyes too much then, because it's a more natural reading than looking at a wall of lights and finding the dark spots....
