Since we are averaging over 130 posts per day (it has gone over 200 in some days!), it is about time we enlisted some help with maintaining RC India. So I am going to SLOWLY add some people to help me with the following tasks, along with the associated rules.
1. The help is limited to the following tasks : Removing unnecessary quotes from replies, moving topics to the right boards & fix external links in posts that are not working. For now, these and ONLY these are the tasks that are to be performed.
2. Even at the slightest hint of any conflict (which may or may not involve the mod) in a thread, he will NO LONGER make any modifications to that particular thread. It has to be brought to my notice. This is to protect the moderator's credibility, and the sanity of the forum.
3. Selection and revocation of moderatorship is strictly a personal decision of mine, kindly do not question either (nor request the same). If anyone's mod status is revoked, I request in advance that such action may not be held against any goodwill that I enjoy with the said person.
4. If anyone has any comment/complaint about any moderator's actions, please INFORM ME IN PRIVATE, via PM. We are all human, and make mistakes from time to time, but that does not reflect our true good nature.
I request everyone's co-operation with this process.
I am hereby requesting Vinay to be the first moderator on RC India. If he is OK with the above rules, he may accept the same publicly here.
Congrats Vinay..It is indeed an honor..
Have a good day guys..
Hey anwar, let me be the second moderator. Thx

Regarding reply #3: Selected moderator must read first message from Anwar.

Hey Vinay! Congrats man... hope you would show some mercy to the extremist post of yours truly oldest RC friend !
A timely step Anwar. hope you get more helping hands to continue the good work. Hail RCI.
Hi Anwar,
We dont mind helping out in the car section. let me know if that is required.
Appreciate all the offers and interest. Basically, it is a clerical job (sorry Vinay ;) ) !
Please do continue helping one another, especially beginners (mostly by guiding them to existing posts, and training them to use the "Search" functionality and use of the "Gems" list).
:headscratch: ;D
Thanks Anwar for the offering, Whether its a clerical or not its really special to be a MOD, and I MEAN it.
It would be really fun to see all the 3 buttons - quote -modify - split on all posts including yours, which Iam already seeing! ;D
I would be really happy to work on the really most interesting hobby forums.
But Unfortunately my work nature and the time I get does not really allow me to go through even 1/4 of the posts that are posted here per day.
I can see may people here on RCI with potential to this and More and really be a HELPING HAND to you!
All I asked for is to authorize me to edit the first post of the heli config thread. and thats all I would need ;)
You do the 25%, I will do the 75% ! Until we add more people to split it up further ;D
Sure when ever I can, but it would be 10 % some times and 30% some times then dont complain. ;D
Congrats Vinay.
I would love to help in the moderation of the 'Cars' section along with Siddharth.(I know,I just broke a rule)
Thanks Guys, Iam busy for this week since my mom is leaving to US. Lets see how is goes for a week or 2. Iam a busy guy ;D
Vinay sir, congratulations on becoming a moderator.. I know you will handle the responsibility well  And Anwar bhaiiya its about time you got some help with the forum.. We all know how hard you work to keep this forum up and running any we are really grateful for it.. I especially love the way you somehow always manage to defuse explosive situations.. Long live RCI!
Unfortunately today was one of the saddest days for me on this forum :(
PS: If you don't know why already, I would prefer NOT to discuss it at all !
we know because of arpit.......
Oh man! I was on duty yesterday so didn't know.. I just went through that thread :(
time for him to mature, RCI is not a local chat room
he is a kind of spoilt brat!!!!
Please... no further comments on this. There is no need for anyone else to get involved.
People snap, whether they are right or wrong :(
Opening for mod??? Im fresh and attended my first interview yday :) Shall i send a resume Anwar sir?? :D :D :D
Pretty sure it ain't worth the trouble ;)
AnkurKaul and I have some good news to cheer all of us up though... !
I am happy the message worked for you Anwar :giggle:
But wait until this week before disclosing my part of the news..lol
Regards
Ankur Kaul
What is it?? Tell us now!!! :) My GPRS package has run out so I'll only be back online this weekend..
please share it with us....
I guess it is something to do with the RCI shirts.
I would like to nominate Gandhar ("iamahuman") as another moderator :)
Please read the first post in this thread... this is essentially a clerical job. When in doubt, please do consult me before taking any action !

Most importantly, I am looking for people who can think MORE about what day-after-tomorrow will look like in terms of personal relations and people's behaviors, and NOT for people who can only see today and tomorrow. In other words, people with pockets filled with chill pills, who will not hesitate on taking them 3 at a time ;D
My moderator-ship(:giggle:)is highly appreciated. Thanks a lot Anwar sir.
Global Moderator sounds good. ;D
WE CAN HELP THEM JUST BY USING
"Report to Moderator" in case of change required.
Thanks

 to the new Moderator Sir!
I don't think I should be called sir.I'm just 15!!! ;D
Thanks for the support.
At 15 you have been entrusted with a position of responsibility that many others double your age (or more) have not been deemed worthy of. You have proved yourself, young man, with your maturity and we are all proud of you. The 'Sir' epithet has to do with your responsibilities / maturity and has NOTHING to do with your age.
One more mature, young individual comes to my mind here - Pickle. Where has he vanished off to? I miss him.
All the best Mr. Gandhar!

Many here would qualify and more people will be added. I have considered many aspects, like being on the forum, noticing the kind of things that a mod should notice, being a bit savvy with tech stuff and so on... of course a little bit of interaction/attitude. Not too much commercial activity is another factor... as money is known to influence people too much ;)
We hit 3000 members, and seem like the journey has just started. More will happen, including adding more mods ;)
cheers to that anwar bhai, with the hobby also growing and we being not part of any LHS (Which is a big factor) SE Asia Rcpowers is right round the bend
PS
I see i have become a Lover Boy
Compliments from senior members like VC sir mean a lot to me.
*acceptance speech begins*
I am honoured and humbled by this prestigious position and I shall discharge my duties to the fullest of my ability

You have done Baner proud :hatsoff:. Bakya you may have to watch it joking around ;D... he is kind of powerful now >:D...
Friends, RCIndians, Countrymen ... ;)
I have added Rajesh/RotorZone as a "Forum Administrator". This role has membership management capability in addition to the "moderator" rights. Membership management involves helping others with approving their registrations, banning spammers and deleting their topics etc.
I trust Rajesh's judgement on forum issues like my own, and his running a not-very-active RC store should not be any reason for conflict when it comes to forum management.
Requesting everyone to offer their support to Rajesh, and contact him for assistance when there are issues where spammers and their threads need to be deleted.
Welcome to the group Rajesh sir!! 3 Bangaloreans are mods ;D .
Yay new Admin :D
Thank you Gandhar and Amit. Anwar has been doing an awesome job with this forum. I'll be glad to do whatever I can to help him and promote this hobby. And no "sir" please.
How about Rajesh Anna? ;D
Hey kiddo, I'm too old for you call me Anna :) Just Rajesh would do.
For too long I've been living in an environment where I can address anybody by name irrespective of hierarchy. After being used to that culture, it sounds odd when I'm called sir.
Alright Rajesh :) .Once again, welcome to the club.
Obviuosly was shifting residence and didn't see this, Amit and Rajesh, congrats, remember Ben Parker's words " With great powers comes great responsibilities", you all have proven your unbiased approach to the forum, congrats again {:)}
I would like to nominate KalyanProdhan (http://www.rcindia.org/profile/?u=1291) as another member of the moderator team.
With this grim reminder of the rules... stated in the first post of this thread ;)
http://www.rcindia.org/rc-india-forum/the-next-step-adding-helpful-hands-to-rc-india/msg47030/#msg47030
Basically, if anyone needs to get upset with anyone else over the rules on this forum and how they are enforced, let ME be the target and not anyone else !
Kalyanbhai - Phata Phati*** :hatsoff:
Congrats. Party pending from your side in March. Rohit and I will be the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, hopefully. Menu - Solid or Liquid is up to you! ;D
*** You have to be a Bong or an Assamese to understand this term. Kalyan please translate. I lack the necessary skills. Loosely comparable to "Chak de" but I could be wrong here.
Anwar Sahab - You couldn't have chosen a better, more passionate person. I laud your maturity. I guess this earns you a Nelson from my side! :giggle:
kalyan da good show !
:hatsoff: I am really Honoured. :hatsoff:
I am really surprised to see the extra buttons in my forum. And just now got informed.
AND Special Thanks to the best 2 guide of me replied even earlier than me.
I don't know if i am capable or not as I see most of the posts in night after returning Home and in office, I have no NET Connection. (I can keep a connection, but believe me, serving my nation, I cannot seat in my chair for 1 hour/day, and most of Saturday and Sunday goes in office work.
But as augustinev bhai said, "GRATE POWER gives Grate Responsibility".
So, in Next Month, I have to take a NETBOOK, and a mobile net connection insted of RC. Of course, it will add flavor in my work as long travel within my Sub-Division Jurisdiction, I got ample time in CAR.

Congratulations Mr. Prodhan. You did use the " Report to Moderator" button when needed. There are some people who use it when it's not needed. You'll see ;)
I noticed that you had edited a post in another topic but didn't see your profile being updated with the new info. 'Dada'(:P) was sent a PM and now I see this topic.
Congrats Prodhan,
And cheers to the Mods on the forum that keep this place 'sane' 'unbiased' & 'responsible'

Don't worry Sandy and all other members from North East India. Gusty is now going to read the 11th. Commandment:
Thou shalt be kind to your kin from neighbouring states. Thou shalt overlook and condone their minor offences. Such kindness shall cause you to be blessed for ever after.
Yay North east! We now have our very own Mod. >:D
after coming to Shillong, i have decided to buy a piece of land here (I am told i cant, finding a way around it), settle down here for a while, such gentle English speaking disciplined folks, i have seen nowhere. My heart belongs here, of my 24+ yrs of uniformed service i have spent 11+ yrs in the east and far east.
PS
Aham Brahmasmi , Brahma is in you/us, the humans
You CAN buy land in Meghalaya. It's easy. However, I don't think Ma'm will approve of the method. :giggle:

CONGRATS MJA,
Thanks Anwar Sir.
Hope an enriched Editing will guide us just like you.
Requesting all mods to remove any links in posts that are clearly spam, and lock the topic. Please do this as soon as you see such links/posts.
We will take care of banning and removing the accounts and all posts. If there is more than one attempt, we can always blacklist the words in the domain they are trying to advertise links for.
Surely Sir.
But there should be a button to make out of quick links of homepage first group. This is because even after locking till 20 next post in separate thread, it just stay there. Is there any tool/option available to moderator to blacklist/hide the thread for further course of action ?
Locking the thread and prepending its name with "SPAM:" should do the trick. Similarly duplicate threads can also be locked and marked "DUPLICATE:".
That's a good idea and i see that in action already by gandhar
The important thing is to take out the destination links/URLs at the earliest. That way, their "agenda" is defeated (before search engines crawl them on this site).
It would be great if you make Priyum bhaiya an administrator because he keeps eyes on everything people do and try to correct them as you can see in some topics He really deserves being on of them.
I know its breaking the laws but I found him worthy for it

RcNitesh is a forum veteran who is only in the 12th Grade!
He will soon go to a flying field (it's too far for him,) get a Radio (he's investigating the best value for money proposition) and procure a model (it has to be the best, but preferably free. He will build an advanced trainer)
Nitesh: if you read this, to the neutral observer, this is what your posts seem to reflect
12th Grade and at an age of 13? Are baap re! :o :salute:
I am nearly 17 and only in 11th. That means I will like/have to learn from you Mr. Veteran.

"Forum veteran" is something afforded automatically by the forum software to people who run amok here and boost their post count... which has very little to with being an "RC veteran".

guys - cut nitesh some slack .
his only fault is that he is like an over eager puppy dog ....
what is wrong in that ?? personally I find it quite refreshing
that a guy his age hangs out here instead of being glued to
facebook.
same goes with aniket - who i find has maturity beyond his years
these are the guys who are the future and its up to us to be patient

who me? ;D mature? you haven't met me then :P
Believe me... aniket is very very kiddish.
13 is when a young girl from Lucknow has joined MSc.
14 is when her brother completed BCA
Great having young guys.
As long as they spell well and use punctuation. Haha. Who is that aimed at?
What about oldies?

Well said Saikat sir :salute:, i hope this is where we should show our maturity.
For Nitesh, Try not to take too much advantage of this. Make good use of this Forum.
AK.
The issue, in the simplest of terms, is that many seemed to disregard calls for one of the basic but most essentials skills of our times, which is
1. to search for information themselves and master that skill of searching
2. to have the patience to do the search instead of taking short-cuts by asking others.
You know... the "give a man fish versus teach a man how to fish" thingy. I may be getting old, but I cannot stand the behavior of people who refuse to learn how to fish. It is, after all, for their own good.
