Hello

Clarify my doubt given below.
What should be the thrust to weight ratio (T/W) of a RC plane.

Is 2.1 : 1 thrust to weight ratio good

Sir,
If you are the guy asking about 10edf's of 45kg thrust each, (in another thread)

And here you are asking if 2.1:1 thrust to weight ratio is good

Then I fear you are way out of your depth!

If you post details of what you are building, some members may offer relevant advice.

I second what Iyer Sir said!
And T/W ratio is variable.

While a powered glider is perfectly capable of flying at 0.1:1 ratio, an airliner isn't.

What is it that you're building, I'm really curious now....

Please post what you want to build to begin with. Talking over phone is ok...but in case we have so much interesting things to discuss....it will all be lost...if you start asking here others (both beginners and experienced) can view and comment. And it will appear in google search result...and that's the most interesting part of it.

My aim is to build the most heaviest, powerfulest and the most expensive rc edf fighter jet.
For that I have to learn a lot.
You may ask how it is possible for such a edf plane as edfs are low efficient.
I fighter jet has maximum of 2 engines.
But what I am thinking is to make 2 engine which comprises 10 edfs each.
I will arrange 10 edfs in such a way that one edf is placed behind another.
So,
I can get two electric jet engines with total 20 edfs
If I use 20, 45 kg thrust edfs, It can totally generate a thrust of 900kgs.
So if I get success in this.
It could be quiet easy for me to build jet weighing 430kg.

Sure... we will help you with whatever knowledge we have. But you must understand you need to "start" from the "start line" and  not just drop at the end line. For example if you want to be a doctor when you grow up... you start with biology, chemistry etc.... and not just start dissecting bodies with sophisticated surgical instruments. So "start" with basic trainer model... there are plenty of threads here for that... and soon you will learn aeromodelling even better than us (at least better than me I am sure :) )

There aren't really any books afaik, there's a ton of info on the internet. You just have to look for it, do your research and read.

Some good very basic tutorials are the flitetest begineer series, makezine maker hangar series (note: don't build the maker hangar, there are other better alternatives, the video series is a very good introduction to the hobby though).

Read Iyer sirs tech talk threads, if you have any questions after doing your research you are free to ask but please first do some simple google searches on your own. We can guide you but we can't spoon feed you. If you are interested in doing your biggest and most expensive edf jet project then you should google more about how edfs work, their efficiency ratings, how they work, their use scenarios, have a look at the kind of aircrafts people use edfs for, see if 10 edf motors are possible in those kind of planes, if yes well and good, if not see how you can change them. Ask specific questions, don't ask questions whose answers are just a google search away.
