Thanks for your efforts Gaurav.

I know in Allahabad we have legacy of RCFlyers since the 70s.

While digging in, I did not get information with my almost non-existent friend circle (living out of Allahabad).
Got to know about random people using open fields but did not find any. (2 weeks stay and came back)

Tried to fly in an area called Kalindipuram but too many spectators.

I wish with your effort all the Allahabad Flyers come together and have a big community helping each other.

Here in Bangalore, it is a big community and people at field are very helpful.
The best part is having quite a few Hobby Stores in Bangalore.

@tahmadblr

Wonderful to know you have been in Allahabad  !!

As you very well know unlike Bangalore, Allahabad has very very few modellers. However its worthwhile posting all of what we do here on the forum so anyone searching can come and find our very active group.

Many are surprised to find Allahabad having such an active group of enthusiastic aeromodellors !!

So, finally got permission for posting something here.
Sir it is always a wonderful experience meeting you anytime. Also, to be mentioned, every time I met you I learned something. I'd noticed this thing many times. It could be either some tips/tricks, checklist, keeping the stuff, doing the things or anything but yeah it is always something that I learn. I truly agree for clean and precise flying rather than performing stunts or something.
I believe a single 'successful flight' including a proper landing and bringing the airplane back safe and in one piece could make the whole day alive and better. Also, if opposite happens then it could kill the mood and the whole day goes bad. This always happens with me.

Now, posting a few pics of my recent flying sessions that took place a week back. The airplane used is basic high winger trainer.
Uploading the videos on youtube so would be posting the links as soon as it is done.

Next day I went for flying again in evening. The airplane remains same because it flies very smoothly. First pic shows me making certain adjustments. The grub screw was loose. Youtube link is as follows:

Sorry, the recording was done by an 8 year old cute boy(forgot to take his pic :banghead:) so it is not very still.

Next morning taught me something. I learned launching the model myself ;D with radio in one hand and model in other hand. Previously, I remained hesitant and scared of doing this as I was not sure how the airplane would respond and whether I'll be able to control it as soon as after take off ???
It uplifted my confidence :) and acted as a boost up to move ahead and practicing more and more. The video is as follows. Here, it is takeoff followed by a 180 degree turn and landing.

Note: Please watch the video at 360p.

Here's another pic of our dear Ritesh flying his glow trainer.

How much fun we have flying pattern with our birds. Both Neeraj's and mine Twinstars in "close" proximity :)

Here's that video I was talking about - The maiden flight in my garden by Amir. Plane is Akky's Piaget 3D. We had gotten two of these. ONe with Akky and one of mine ( will post pics/videos here )

Awesome confidence to maiden a plane in this fashion !

Thanks Utkarsh,

We did get bitten by the 3D bug. Got several videos will post over the next few days.

BTW saw your video - Nice take off, flight and good landing. With the advent of electric planes I see many not mastering the landings perfectly. Maybe because the foamies can sustain more bashing than the old TLC balsa planes . Working on the proper technique is always worthwhile.

ON that note here are a few videos from me :

Second landing in the last video was amazing sir.
Also, the increasing sound of engine when the plane approaches us during low pass thats so beautiful.
I got a new set of questions now from the above videos :giggle:
"If you were born with wings, do every thing you could, for flying."

gauravag

Thanks Utkarsh,

The sound of the engines, and the smell of glow fuel/exhaust  especially four strokes is just too addictive.
The putt-putt of a 4 stroker on approach as it gently lands is really one of the best experiences of flying.

Re: the landing. Always practise to land right in front of yourself, on the runway centerline, ( even if theres an imaginary one ) . Get it right every time without fail. The secret to making a good landing is, holding the correct plane attitude and while maintaining the straight flight, managing the descent with the throttle and the speed with the elevator. Learning to fly by maintaining a slight back pressure on the elevator stick, while on approach, and maintaining attitude by managing this pressure makes for the perfect approaches.

You are welcome for your questions. Lets meet/fly this weekend !

Apart from just flying for fun, I believe that its very important for each of us to promote the hobby/sport.

Doing my bit here by helping/guiding the students at UCER - Aeromodelling club. Utkarsh and team are doing a great job.

They built a dozen of RCforAll Mr. Moss gliders and trained the entire batch to fly !

Great job there Utkarsh !

Also seen here Pawan and Stavya - the budding young pilots !

utkarshg13

Thank you sir. :hatsoff:
Would implement the above mentioned method for landing next time I'll go for flying. Surely I'll come this weekend...

Aswani

Hello friends !

I am Aswani Singh from MNNIT Allahabad, (B-tech Mechanical Engineering ) basically  I am from Kolkata.I am extremely happy to be amongst you on this coveted page. Now before i proceed further, let me give you a small story of how I came to this pleasure hobby and got an opportunity to introduce myself.

I still remember that day of my Tech Fest Avishkar 2k11  when I saw a man in football ground with its tall and handsome personality (Gaurav sir) wearing a hat and a goggle and trying to control something with the remote in his hand . That moment was one of my life changing moment. I was completely flattered, the way he was dealing with the remote and its plane up in the sky. Well i was least interested in plane and was most interested in his unique hat and his unique goggle.

I stopped there and wait for long as both the man (Gaurav sir and Niraj sir) and his flying were attractive. I spent quite sometime, trying to figure out how things are happening, and to sort out the queries of my mind I approached him. He was a humble, sensible and innovative man.

I approached him and asked the working and asked him to kindly allow me to see through the goggle. It made me feel as if I entered into a magical world that took my heart throb, and gave me immense pleasure as I could feel i am three hundred feet above my college ground.
After the event was over I again went to him and asked him in soft voice "sir, I want to learn Aeromodelling". He simply smiled and gave me his number. But by mistake I lost the number and so it took 4 month to again contact him.

GAURAV sir, its you without whom it could have been never possible. Every time when we got into a trap, you let us find a way and gave a platform to prove ourselves. I wish we could rise in a steady n continuous way and multiply the numbers of interested students in this hobby, so that we can set a bench mark that leave a successful story behind.

Well on this promising note I once again would like to thank you for providing me the support needed in order to continuously push myself to succeed.
thanks :)

Yeah Utkarsh,

That was a great event we did here. Was small but went off well. Flew many of my models there both electric and nitro.

With new and renewed energy of yours, we will definately plan up something again soon !

For now - Concentrate on accurate pattern flying - for that is where the real skills are. We will go over it when we meet next.
