i am happy to present you
AFA AEROMODELLING CLUB GOA

The organisation(afa) is association of friends of astronomy.
They have meeting every saturday evening in which quizzes and activities are conducted.
one day i thought to take my equipment to the meeting and tell the people about it.They were very interested and allowed me to take the whole evening to explain them everything about aeromodelling.I showed them some servos,batteries,my KDS 7X and some other stuff and the were very enthusiastic to learn about the hobby.I also called Aneesh one day to show his planes and some more stuff.At the end of the meeting the secretary of the Organisation,Mr.Satish Naik,called me and said that we should have our own aeromodelling club!

After some days we had a couple of discussions and meetings with the president(who had those old gliders!).At last they concluded that we will inaugurate the aeromodelling club with the opening of the observatory for the new term.They were very generous and assigned me and Aneesh as the coordinators of the club.

On the day of the inauguration me and Aneesh got our planes and he brought two nitro powered ones from his friend.Aneesh gave a presentation and i handled the simulator and taught the enthusiasts how to fly on a simulator.

On the display there we had 6 planes,two glidiators { V2 and V1},two nitro planes from aneesh's friend and the two old gliders.

We were handed the log book of the club by the chief guest.Now we are having a funfly-

on the 14th of Jan and some workshops afterword.
Wish us luck so that we can take aeromodelling in Goa to greater heights!

Hey I am also (deep) into astronomy. I have 110 mm Newtonian reflector, its 13 years old now but still works like it did the first day. But Pune's weather is no good for star gazers

Sunlikestar - Great to know that you are also into star gazing! I have a Konus 90mm Refractor with motor drive. I do some Lunar photography too. Let's share notes some day.

I don't think it got printed as the media was going crazy over IFFI (International Film Festival of India) at the time.. I did use a lot of it in the intro part of my presentation though

Will be coming to Goa next month to meet some old friends there.
Planning to get most of my planes as they want to have a taste of whats it like to fly rc's. Looking forward to have a flying session with u ppl there.

Hi,
Noticed that your first post on this forum was an enquiry about sources of glow fuel (Apr 2014!)
What happened since then?

Pl indicate what help you need so that appropriate input can be given.
(Eg, which engine to buy, from where. Or how much nitro and castor oil to use. Or which prop to use. Or how to start it. Or what to do if it doesn't start etc)

Right now I have moved toward rc planes from rc boats. And I have build a high wing trainer. I have a OS .15LA to power it. And using a fly sky transmitter. I am looking help for how to break in the engine and its maintenance.

And where you guys meet and flying sessions are carried out?

I don't know about the engine.
But are you planning to use those rubber bands?
