Does any one know of a club/association in Bangalore for model flying??

TG - Merged your post into this one, as it was probably going to pollute the other thread.

Jakkur has organized (should I say access controlled) flying.

Adarsh(Bond) told me "Go meet people in government flying training school at Jakkur air field. They'll do the need ful. You'll have to give an application for permission to do aeromodelling. Once it's approved, they'll give you an I'd card."

Sounds good. I will be going to make my aeromodeller's ID card this Sunday, I need all the advice I can get. :) Open to anyone's opinions.

That was yesterday. As per today, RC flying in Jakkur is totalyl stopped and the oldtimers are flying in Hoskote on Old Madras road, some 25KM from the city.
The good thing is that you can fly all days of the week unlike only on Sunday as in Jakkur. The Bad thing is that there is no Runway laid yet, so unless you are skilled in takeoff/landing, this field is mostly 'Foamie only' for the the while.

We usually fly there on Sundays 7AM till -3 PM evening. Couple of folks also go on Saturdays and other days. You may have a quick sync up with flyer there on the FB community:

Start of Flying school at Jakkur I suppose, have stopped RC flyers in Jakkur.

I have been to all the places of flying in Bangalore including IISc. and I find Hoskote as best option. Best thing about Hoskote is you need not to worry about permissions, just go there and start flying. People who have been flying at Hoskote are more than helpful. see my posts here:

Find any difficulty in reaching there, can contact ever ready to help Ujjwaana. or even me.

Guys how about giving some money to the farmers there and to get a cricket pitch like runway done? It will be good to have a level ground which is the only thing missing there. Not sure whether this will lead to any other complications though  :headscratch:

Folks can now contact Jakkur old timers like Adarsh, Abhay, Raghavendra, Sanjeev, Prithvi for direction and help as they are too shifting their base to Hoskote

Foamy, there are already a plan to get a JCB and roller and properly lay to orthogonal earthern runways. We would be putting the initiating very soon.

As People posted here , lot of action is at Hoskote Lake Bed, its bit crowded on weekends , and less activity on week days. Seems best place for flying....

as for map :

Directions : Old Madras Road, just before Hoskote or you see sign of " TOLL GATE AHEAD " take service lane  and ask for Huskur " village - the flying place is next outside the village.
