We are looking for an experienced pilot, from Bangalore, who can help us in flight testing of our SAE Aero Design Aircrafts, and piloting the aircraft during SAE Aero Design India competition held in Tumkur.
We will handle the travel, and food during competition.
Please PM me, for further information.
:help: :help: :hatsoff:
Thanks,
Srinivas Azad
I would like to help but i stay in Mumbai
Message me with details. I might be able to help you.
Interested, I am from Mysore
@topalle,
Hi Srinivas,
I'm sure you'll find someone in Bangalore.
Try ashok baijal and/or bmblb.
If all else fails, I'm always available (for a Re 1 fee!)
Airfare from/to Indore will probably be too much for your college to bear!
Anyway, I'd be happy to hear details (if and when you can share them)
Regards
Haha, thanks a lot sir,
Nikhil (Spitfire) has offered to help us.
Regarding details, our team from BMSCE was placed second in the virtual round behind the hosts SIT Tumkur, where we had to present the design in front of a panel.
Flight round is going to be held on 14th and 15th.
College is not sponsoring :P, we ourselves are pooling in money :banghead:
I will share this message with my friends.
Still Looking for someone. Competition is on this Friday and Saturday. Please help! :help:

They provided us with an official pilot.
I'm not sure if he is on this forum, but Mr. Emil Paul, Thanks a lot for flying our plane.
We won the Best Innovation Award in the competition, for our use of additive manufacturing in the plane.
Overall ranking's aren't out yet, but I believe we are 4th in the competition.
{:)}
Well done!
Congratulations! :thumbsup: {:)}
Do share your design and any pics/ videos taken during the competition. :)

Thank you Iyer sir, and Swapnil sir.
I'll share the design and pictures too!

Just saw the video. Awesome work!
Which particular components were made using additive manufacturing?
Some more.

We used a carbon fiber boom, which can be adjusted in length to vary cg before and after loading. For that, we made 3D printed parts to attach tail with boom , and boom with fuselage.
I've attached a picture of them.
Cool! :hatsoff:
Congratulations on winning the Best Innovation Award. {:)} :goodjob:

Thanks a lot sir! Can you point out the mistakes we made? we want to improve our plane.
Your plane was fine, but the horizontal and vertical stabilizers which was glued to the fuselage was not stable. Your payload was fine and thrust required was also fine.
I had the opportunity to fly a similar designed plane where the elevator servo could not handle the load and gave way which resulted in a nose dive.
Regards,
Emil
