Hi Guys,

RC flying field at HOSKOTE is all ploughed up including the whole runway for growing trees .
There are big big stones on the way to stop the vehicle going towards the runway.
The area is now under forest officials and soon will be fenced.
Can be said that today was the last day for no flying at Hoskote.

Can anyone suggest an alternate location for RC flying except hoskote.

Would be glad to get an assistance from the community of Rc flyers, Bengaluru for an alternate location.
:help:

This is very unfortunate news.

I had gone to the Hesaraghatta lake bed a few weeks ago and it seems like it could be a possible alternative.

It is near a government horticulture department office but I did not face any problems when I went flying there with a few others. I have heard it is semi-popular with 'photographers' and birdwatchers on weekends. Several farmers also bring their cattle here. Direct access to the lake bed is not allowed and the main road to it is blocked as many people were damaging the ecosystem by taking their cars on to the lake bed. However there are side roads that let you get up next to the lake bed itself. When I went it was mostly dry with a few large puddles but with the recent rains it may have filled up a lot more.

Yes, it is really sad but getting more opinions from our flyers with respect to the flying field is a better part  :) .

As suggested by SK1701 , Hesaraghatta lake bed seems to be a good substitute for Hoskote. However, it will be a new place to experiment for RC flyers as very less of them know about it & is quite far.

Still, there is a need to know about regulations in that area like :-
- Non-RC flyer crowd and how safe is it to fly there ??
- The area for distant flying (FPV) & obstacles surrounding ?
- Hobby flyers who visit the area for frequent RC flying ?
- whom to contact if any hobby flyer/flyers want to fly there?
or
It's an open for all field ???

The search is still on.

I remember flying at Hesarghatta back in 2014. There was a decent strip of land from where we could fly. There were good approaches, free of tree cover as well.

Hoskote was more convenient, though.

Unfortunately, the second option Hesarghatta lake bed flying area as mentioned by SK1701 is also closed permanently for all recreational activities. As there had been some disputes on the field 4-5 months back as said by the local people there , the land gate has been locked with cautions of public notice & no entry sign board outside .

Hi, I am Aanish
I had also been at hoskote today to fly. Then I found out that it was band. I was disappointed. I found an alternative which is near hoskote in which I use to flying the beginning. Today I had been there to fly my plane and it was aswome. The site is 10 acres approx it is bounded by the main road on front which is higher Than the site and just below I is a small man made pond which occupies 1 acre of area and on the other sides it is sounded by rose plantations. As we get down from the road we go about 100 mets inside and there is a was wide open area. In the middle of the site there is a flat area which is ideal for a runway. There is about 5 cm tall grass in the remaining area. The location is about 1km from the hoskote toll gate.

Pics of site the last time I went.

tahmadblr

Thanks Akshay,
Flying Heli on the same location as Gaurav pointed? How does that area look like now?

Akshay N

i fell the area(hoskote lake bed,ie government plantation land) is good now,i'm not sure if it would be ok for flying planes because of runway problem ,i mean that there is some place available for runway,i'm not sure if it would be sufficient for you guys, because i went their only couple of times and moreover i'm just a beginner in this hobby.
and guys what about the other place which is very near to it,where people cut grass for cows
(behind the rose plantations).
