Title: RC Bolt
Post by: sanjayrai55 on December 21, 2013, 07:46:41 PM
Hi. A few of us guys fly Electrics regularly in Sector 29 Leisure Valley ground in Gurgaon. Unfortunately it is not safe to fly Nitro there, due to the proximity of roads, buildings and the general junta and cricketers you would find in a public park.
There is Girish Sarwal, Arvind Singhatiya, Maahin Beri, Sandeep Pande, Achin Madan, Saurabh Rastogi, and Amitabh Srivastava. And me ;D
First, the DOG LANDING, a highly skilled maneuver performed by Arvind

Maahin was not so lucky, unfortunately with his little Stick. A beautifully crafted balsa/monokote model, she was just a little heavy on the wing loading, and the extra power just made her more difficult

We have a little tree, just at the edge of the runway, which has periodically been someone or the other's nemesis.
Today, as Girish was doing a low pass the branches suddenly elongated, reached out and grabbed his model in a combination of a Boston Crab and Indian Deathlock, breaking it's back :o :o :o
Girish is now going to perform deep prayers standing on one leg for 7 years to appease the poltergeist who lives in that tree  :D :D :D

The HCL + CH3NO2 + (CH3)2CO + Lizol + Benzol + C6H5OH + Surf Excel + Harpic concoction is ready for the tree from my end...

Sunday is never good to fly in a public park
Too many people, cricket matches, learner drivers....all the wrong ingredients.
Nonetheless, we fly ;D ;D ;D

We guys believe in supporting the local Adhesives Industry. In a short while Saurabh fixed it....so neatly it was difficult to find the seam :goodjob: :o :o
Wow! Watta flyer! The video, very amateurish, does not do justice to the model, perfectly built by Saurabh, brilliantly piloted by Arvind, our local hot hot flyer {:)} {:)}

Girish makes a great Test Pilot. I keep grumbling and swearing at him, but he keeps smiling :)
Thanks Girish ;) ;D
But he did not have such a good outing - last time The Tree ate up his Avi (now repaired) and then he was flying one of my home design/build Corro models, once called SR 3. He changed the name to GS 5 to confuse the tree, but......The Tree got him anyway! Again! :violent: :violent:
Arvind also knocked out the firewall of his Subaru, and Achin tried taking a rock up with him during take-off. Of course, the rock preferred the ground, and kept the Avi there for some time, breaking Achin's heart in the process

I leave it to Saurabh, Girish and Arvind to explain what happened here in detail, with 70 mm, Technicolor and Stereophonic sound :D
All I know is they were tinkering with Saurabh's Piper, and suddenly I saw the model scooting at full speed along the ground, scattering cricketers left and right, and Girish galloping after it

Sanjay sir is the enchanter of our club. Notice that only when he shouts the magic word "Uthaaa" does any plane lift off while taking off. Also, as seen in most of the above videos, this word has immediate effect. There is no time delay between the chant being uttered and a plane shooting upwards.

That Carbon fibre glider is DLG (discuss launch glider). This guy David from flitetest has a video of it on his own site rcexplorer.se on how to build one.
Title: Re: RC Bolt
Post by: RCNeil21 on December 25, 2013, 12:16:10 PM
The person has a good technique, a running start, then he converts that into a spin giving him more momentum during the spin so the plane goes higher. The competition name ia F3K and its a carbonfibre DLG which is usually upwards of 300$ so i can understand why a japanese gent is flying it :) I love DLG's and sailplanes more than usual powered planes.
If someone wants to build a DLG: http://www.pcm.at/downloads/Bauanleitungen/Nano-BI-Engl.pdf (http://www.pcm.at/downloads/Bauanleitungen/Nano-BI-Engl.pdf)

@sanjayrai55 Spad's not bad, but Can I please have that beautiful stand? Promise to improve rope tie to prevent legs from splaying!
(Don't piss on balsa just yet. Gotta build that Jap gentleman's DLG.) BTW where's he? Scared off by RCBolt? Or by bystanders you shoo off before every landing? Audio on videos is hilarious. Eg, Pilot: Is she going or coming? Spotter: She's coming. (After one second) No No she's going! With friends like that...
Maybe the whole RCBolt gang should come here while Gusty is here. Can arrange 3 rooms 6/9 beds and 3 meals over a weekend. Though retired, still have some claim on my old guest house.

@sanjayrai55 Re chai omlette bread man. So far i was only taking puri aloo, chai, chips, cokes etc. Tomorrow i'll take boil-ed eggs! RC Aunt offended that Gusty thinks she's only the photographer (which she is) and the tea boy (which she isn't). So tomorrow she won't come unless we take HER plane. Wait till she takes Gusty to the golf course...

 awesome build by Sanjay sir! The moment its handlaunched (Actually its desperate to releases itself from the shakels) !!! Adrinalin rush is almost similar to a F1 racer at highest speeds!

Arvind had a really bad crash on his Fun Jet due to a Radio Signal failure. But, by evening, the model which many would have written off, was as good as new ;D ;D
Title: Re: RC Bolt
Post by: asinghatiya on April 23, 2014, 06:03:18 AM
It was a bad and really unfortunate crash. Yet not able to figure out the reason of it suddenly coming down with full throttle when I was enjoying its glide at zero throttle.
As Rai sir said there was a sudden loss of signal. I too doubt that because I installed a new inrunner in it which was problematic right out of the box. It's one wire {out of three}had loose connection so I used a nylon tie to freeze its movement. May be a sudden sparking in that wire in middle of the flight caused a signal loss.
you can see in the pictures the crash was huge. But Funjet quality is out of the world. Even after this crash; I was able to repair it to its original shape; all credit goes to Rai sir's technique of HOT WATER treatment.

Many thanks Bolts for a wonderful farewell.. lets hope I will have some time in Bangalore to fly.
It was a wonderful journey for about five months when Bolts concept came in and sector 29 become the place to host not only kingdom of dreams but Kingdom of flying planes too.
I was living a life without flying from more than a year before bolts came in power! One fine morning got a call from Girish & then every morning became a flying morning. I flew so much in last couple of months which I didnt flew since I started flying.
Like every dream run has an end :salute:....my flying too !!!
Now shifted to Bangalore (today morning :P). I have to explore possibilities of flying here too. Now time would be a constraint but hopes are high.... may be some boltz would be waiting here too
Once Again many many thanks everybody for your precious friendship and guidance. now whenever will be in delhi; look forward to fly with you all.

Unintended result :-\
Hope its not his last login, sanjay sir he was right in enforcing forum rules. The little man has gotten angry nowand by my experience little men hold a grudge until we as the bigger people make them understand politely.
At once there was another young member who used to irritate, even i was once that guy(still am only to close family) but we should understand them and be calm.
As a story goes, a child asked his father what the black thing moving on the verandah was, the father kindly replied a crow, the child started playing after that and after a few moments asked the same question, in the same kind manner the father replied with the same answer, it is a crow, this continued till the child asked his father for the 100th time, the father kindly replied that it was a crow. A few years passed the child was now working and had a family of his own, one day while they were sitting beside the window the father calmly asked his son what the black thing sitting on the windowsill was, the child replied it was a crow, the father asked it thrice but when he asked it for the fourth time the son got irritated and told his father how many times he will ask the same question. The father simply smiled.
Be calm sanjay sir dont get irritated, we as youngsters in this hobby look up to the elders on the forum. You, VC sir, sundaram sir, gusty sir, iyer sir and so many more.
Devang, please dont be rude to the elders in any which way, if they have a complain about you kindly apologize and let go.

Someone makes nasty, unneeded, unwarranted unasked comments. Then withdraws them. Then that someone then throws a tantrum - do it my way, or I won't talk to you.
Sir , I think there's some misunderstanding , according to what I was told by a user , crazy Calvin commented the word "ground p**n " And because of that Devang told him that words like these are not allowed here . After which Calvin edited his comment , so the nasty , unwanted , unneeded commented was important for Calvin to learn about the rules.
After which you comment that Devang is an irritating person . When he was doing the right thing, you accused him of being the wrong one .
How is it possible that he's wrong ?

Sorry guys for making a fuss , here's my apology message to Sanjay sir .
I'm sorry for making a fuss , I was mad for doing the right thing and getting corrected for it .
I thought that ground p**n meant the other thing .
I asked you about Balaji , because a guy named Balaji, who lived in Delhi called me also , asking for my old fly sky 9x , which I had already sold . He was some other guy that's why I didn't mention it .

Those are really nice looking planes sir. I wish I could see them at the flying field. You appear to be one of the most prolific builders on the forum. Just out of curiosity, where did you get those small box organisers in the background. I want to get one of those so I can stop finding LEDs and other components all over my room :giggle:

RC Bolt started with but two people, and as consequence may have it, I see only two active pilots on the field. Life of a field does come around a full circle

Hi guys, extremely new RC Pilot here. My name is Pratyush and I have been searching for knowledgeable/experienced pilots to learn/build/fly with in Gurgaon till I found this thread. I have been flying beginner stuff since the last few months and can't wait to step it up. I am really in love with flight and am looking forward to getting good on all 3 major flying platforms - Fixed Wing, 3D Heli and Multi-Rotors.
I fly these regularly: 1. WLToys V911 - 4Ch Helicopter 2. WLToys V922 - 6Ch CP Helicopter - Can hover and fly it around, can't do 3D yet but I'm working on it. The non-programmable Tx with this doesn't help learn 3D. I find it too touchy on the Pitch.
Will be getting/building these in January 2015 - waiting for HobbyKing to deliver the electronics for my very first planes ever: 1. Radio System - Tx+Rx - Spektrum DX6 with AR610 Rx 2. FT Spitfire - Foamboard construction - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A_HJXmwLQ4 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A_HJXmwLQ4) 3. FT Racer (RipSlinger from the movie Planes) - Foamboard construction - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFT0era1zzM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFT0era1zzM) 4. Blade Nano CPX - UltraMicro CP Helicopter 5. Most Importantly - Phoenix RC Simulator v5 - Do not have any sim experience but I feel the need. Especially for CP helis.
Please let me know the next time you guys plan to fly in Gurgaon along with the place (sector 29 from what I can see in the thread?). I would love to catch up and fly with you guys.
Also, I happen to have seen a gentleman carrying a big plane around in a red Swift in my neighbourhood (National Media Centre). Would any of you happen to know this person? It'll be great to know someone in the neighbourhood as well.
Thanks a ton in anticipation.

Hi Pratyush, Welcome to the forum.
You seem to be going good only suggestion is don't be too confident and jump for the ft racer instead get training from Sanjay sir in building and build a trainer model. Don't get the dx6 from foreign instead get the frsky taranis from rcproduct.in or Rcmumbai.com
PS I guess that guy was Sanjay sir.
Title: Re: RC Bolt
Post by: ppcruise on December 24, 2014, 07:28:57 PM
Hi,
Thanks a ton for the reply.
I am quite afraid of the FT Racer myself since it's quite fast. Too damn fast for somebody with no fixed-wing experience at all. Ordering it just so I save on some shipping later. My first choice is actually the FT Spitfire since it manages to be a warbird (\m/ to that!!!) and still keeps the stall characteristics under control for a beginner (Have been talking to quite a few first-time builders of the FT Spitfire across the pond and they seem to love it - It's slow and doesn't stall much).
My intention, first and foremost, is to "build" something rather than "buy" something right now (Though the Bix3 with its pusher prop should be great for crashing ;-)) so I can learn how things work and how to fix them when they do go wrong (and I have learnt enough that things break a hell lot when you're learning)
Also, I had looked at the Taranis X9D Plus and loved it!!!! So much value for money is just awesome to be honest!!! Frankly, the few reasons I'm going for the DX6 right now (but will eventually move to something like the Taranis or a Futaba or an Aurora 9x): 1. Programming the DX6 took much, much less effort (very important for me since I want to spend time in the air and not looking at screen). 2. I find that a ton of BNF models run DSMX (not too much of an issue with Taranis either because modules can be purchased for almost all Radios these days). 3. Very, very good customer support from Spektrum - A few old friends have been using these for more than 5 years and couldn't go more gaga about customer service from Spektrum. 4. I know I won't need more channels than 6 (since I'm so far away from FPV and 3D at present).
Overall, the Taranis seems like one of the best intermediate/advance Tx out there today. Yeah It's not that expensive but I know that I am nowhere close to using or understanding it fully at present. Also, knowing the geek that I am, I know I'd end up fiddling with the Taranis so much (it has so much to offer) that the focus might just get diluted from becoming a solid pilot first and then anything else. The DX6 keeps it simple and functional enough so you have minimum friction between you and your bird being airborne.
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I have been reading a lot about both and the above is just the gist of what I've heard from users of both Taranis and Spektrum.

Hi Mr. Rai,
Thanks a ton for the reply. Will pm you my phone number. It's ok about the Swift. I'm sure I'll be bumping into the gentleman in question soon enough. ;-)
Looking forward to seeing you guys. I just hope my goods arrive till then or I'll be stuck with just my V922 Micro CP Heli which I'm not too good at (Though its a lot of fun whenever I do manage to keep it under control).
Thanks again.
