The following document was sent out by Mr Vijendra Nagar (president of the AMAI) for the benefit of all Indian aeromodellers.  It is the first set of guidelines from the Aero Club of India (ACI) for the safe conduct of the hobby in India.

There are very good guideline points here, and some notes of caution on things like arial photography etc. The need for organizing ourselves into local clubs is also highlighted.

PS: I am posting the document here to help spread the content of the message to the Indian RC community, and because the same is not available publicly on the http://www.amai.in website.  If it is publicly available there, we will gladly point to the official source.

The rules should possibly also mention advise about frequencies used for flying. Possibly should also advise on the preference for 2.4 vs. older transmitters.

Anwar,
I don't know much about park flyers, but do they weigh upto 2 kgs?
I mean the hand launched gliders?

Money flies when the transmitter is ON...

The document although a welcome step in right direction leaves a lot of gaps and looks unprofessional.
However on the positive side it does lays down some basic do's and dont's which you routinely see flouted by many who fly
