Title: Rules on Foreigners at Victoria Memorial field
Post by: teamnamibia on June 23, 2014, 10:22:13 AM
Hi guys, :hatsoff:

I remember when i first got into this artform 2 years ago, Mr Kumar of Indian Hobby centre (really cool guy), took me to the Field in Kolkata behind Victoria memorial. it was fun and i was awed, but then i was told that apparently Foreigners are not allowed to be members of the Flying club, can anybody verify this claims for me?
And by the way, i am a Harmless student.  ;D

Regards
Mike

Yes. That is true. Foreigners cannot become members of the club. I.e. Aero Sports Association of Bengal. That field (RCTC) is a military field.

Mr. Kumar himself is not a member of the club, due to many many reasons.

Regards

We only fly at RCTC.. Rajarhat is another place where you can go,  however there is no authotization for rajarhat, and its at your own risk. You can contact Kalyan Prodhan (forum member) he flies at BESU.

I have to ask one thing though, can i write a letter or request or have a letter sent from anybody that would allow me to fly there and join the community? It would be the closest place to interact with a group of flyers. I am a Government of India scholarship holder so doubt i can be of much harm.
