@nairtb:- Just try out the customs duty calculator on toys then i think you can get an approx amount.

Now to the details.

I know a few things about Customs Duty calculations.
1st is the Order value declared. Customs duty (and other charges) are calculated as a % of this value.
Now the Price of the plane is $111.74 (discounted price). INR 6885.43. And this will be declared by HobbyKing as Customs Declaration. Shipping costs are not included in this price. I calculated at this site according to this criteria (thnx to Aman & Nitesh):

Total import duty & taxes due: INR 2075.29

This is the amount that needs to be paid to customs. So about INR 11,500 total.

@nitesh. You got Import duty as INR 4686.65 because in that calculation, Total import value was INR 46402.43

Now to a real life example. I have attached a scanned copy of a Customs Duty receipt issued by FedEx when delivering at a Bangalore address. Dated January 2012. Assessable Value was INR 5500. Total Duty Rate in this case was 26.84%. I found this here at RCIndia.org

Even at 30% tax rate, my Customs duty will be INR 2,178.93 (considering 1$ = INR65). Total value will be about INR 12000.

Now to the final thing. I really can't decide what to do now. I think I'll wait and see if more people share their experience just as this person SURESH KUMAR did. May be I'll order in December. No final decision yet.

There are NO bans on importing ANY FPV equipment. I didn't buy the whole gear, but I ordered a 700 TVL camera, 1W Tx-Rx (with accessories) and antennas. Didn't have any problems...  Just ensure that your package is sent by Registered Airmail (below 2kg)

No it contains sunnysky motors, and its from Aliexpress but been shipped through Singpost.
The seller there had informed me that it would take 30 days, so i will wait it out patiently

Hey if anybody orders from Ems Speed post in hobbyking.com how much time it will take??? Does it has some effects on customs?

Dont know about time but EMS is favorite thing for customs they attract customs like magnet....you'll hav to pay customs in EMS

So means it is dangerous to order from ems speed post. (Danger)

Hehehe ....cant say but definately you'll have to pay customs....ask members who have been importing with EMS. .benefit is that you will recieve it within a week
