Hey guys, im planning to buy a Hobbyking GT2 Transmitter & receiver combo for my project. Its on an offer now for 12$. But im skeptical about it as i have no idea about the taxes and other duties laid on it. Please let me know if it is wise to order this thing.

Thanks a ton

hello
bro don't order it from hk coz it is an radio it will never reach you ( it may get caught by customs and they ask you for WPC or NOC for importing radio which is impossible to get.)
so try any LHS

hello.i am a beginner in this hobby and want to buy a beginner plane(2000-3000 grams shipping weight) from hobby king(like axn jet,bix 1.1,bix 2 or bix 3 please suggest which one would be best for me).Is it safe to do so considering the customs hassles like parcel detained or duty charged?I will be ordering via registered air mail. Please suggest useful information to me regarding this,Sir.I have had 3 orders from hobby king till now without any trouble at all but all were less than 20$ and 300 grams weight. Please help me with useful information.

Nishant.

There are lots of LHS having the same model.
have a look into this below link.

Anyway welcome to the forum.

Once you find out the shipping cost, you may find Indian stores better!

aman1256

I agree With Iyer Sir. Sometimes The Shipping And Customs Duties Are So High. Its better To Buy From LHS.

Aman.

Thank you for the replies.I am sorry but i cannot find the planes i have listed above in LHS.Can anyone please link me the same planes or similar planes available in the LHS under 5000 inr please.Thank you.

nishant n-nike

Hello Sir.I saw the bix in one of the sites and other similar trainer planes but all of them are above 6500 inr or so.Can anyone suggest me a better option?Thank you.

rcpilotacro

you are better off buying from LHS, hobbyking will stick it to you, one fat bill (custom hassles and payment inclusive)
Gusty's Hangar and Introduction.

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

Agreed with Gusty and Iyer Sir...you can check it out..add you plane to cart...and only Fedex IP will show up that too with a fee of >80$...if you really want to import a plane you could try Flitetest Store...They have Build Yourself kits(no electronics) ranging from 20-60$ with nominal shipping and now they have the power packs(suitable electronics for extra bucks). Hope it helps! :hatsoff:

They also sell Bixler

The best part is that LHS send you the items in a very short time whereas HK takes its sweet time (close to 30 days) when being sent through the registered post.  OR else DHL will get the same to you in a couple of days..... but DHL slaps a hefty customs duty making the whole think unviable.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

nishant n-nike

Will i get any customs hassles like duties and parcel detained when buying from flite test store,Sir.And have you tried it yourself-Is it good and safe? And should i buy only the kit or the kit with electronics?

nishant n-nike

Everyone is telling to not to buy a plane from hobbyking due to customs and shipping.I highly appreciate the recommendation and will do as all of you say.But is it safe(from customs) to buy other electronics from hobbyking like motor, battery, esc, meters, servos etc? Also to tell you all that i am a platinum member at hobbyking and have had several Small orders at hobbyking with no trouble and Zero taxes.

TechnoCrackOC

Even if there is a small wire that is been shipped there is a slight chance of getting caught in the Customs. But some website's are smart HobbyKing is not one of them recently I purchased a RTF Quad from sp4mm3r and it reached me with all the things in it without any customs as sp4mm3r marked the Item as low cost and named it a RC Simulator thus saving me from the customs but I highly doughy that HobbyKing will do that.

Himadri Roy

@nishant: I have bought anything yet but i contacted them through mail and they said that they cover up all damages through transit and it should be safe as its through PayPal...it depends on you whether you want the electronics..you can source cheaper electronics form ebay.com,banggood,LHS,etc.  :hatsoff:

I agree with you mate. I don't think Hobbyking will Do that Despite The Fact Many Shipments Gets Stuck And Get Returned From India specially From Hobbyking.
