for Rs 5000/- what are you expecting to get from LHS ?

By wrong declaration and under valuing you may have gotten off without customs this time, some more may get away but then they are going to catch up and then even a genuine buyer to everyone will get charged with customs   .

What more answers do you need , every has told you not to buy from HK . There are a good amount of LHS in this country which are selling such planes (sky surfer , easy star) , if you are hell bent on buying from HK please do so .

The world is a crazy place , every single person has suggested him against buying from HK . A person only takes the up front price in consideration, if he calculates the shipping , custom duty , custom hassles and the time to get it delivered , there wont be a reason to ask the same question again and again .

To the op , Do not call anything which contains any radio equipment , if you do so you will have to get a WPC noc . You can buy esc , motors , heatshrink , connecters, wires etc . Rest is upon you .

Buy a skysurfer kit from rcsportz.com , the bixler and the skysurfer are almost the same . Buying a kit will give you the freedom to put in your own motor , esc , battery and radio , not only that you will learn about the critical relationship between the motor , esc and battery . Buying and assembling a kit will help you to put it back (you will crash a few times) . You can start with a cheaper radio (reputated rafios are recommended) .

All your electronics wont cost much ,  you can buy your electronics from HK , dont buy a lipo from there though. Buy a good emax motor from Rcd and a good 20A esc . Check out the sale section as well .

I hope customs dont catch ... order value is $31, if they do, how much would i have to shell out ?

I had to pay 2250 (including customs and handling fees) on a order worth 100$ including shipping by FedEx Priority. I got it in a week flat though. Registered airmail apparently has a lower chance of being charged duty. The duty will be around 28% plus some other random charges.

yea thats why i chose airmail, ordered APM and CF Motor mounts, didnt get charged

FedEx priority was my only option. I ordered 2 4000 mAh LiPos, a 1500 mAh LiFe and some other assorted stuff.

oh ... yeam mine were basic stuff so airmail was there..

Fedex is always not true to customers, when ever they charge customs(all the time) ask for customs documents before making the payment.who would know if it skipped customs.

I've read that on the forum before so I asked my mom to ask for an invoice before paying since I was not home. The invoice seems legit.

BCD(10%) + CVD (12%) + EDU CESS (3%) + SAD (4%): Total duty rate (28.84%)
Plus 300 'other charges' and service tax.
I'm going to be more careful about ordering from abroad (FedEx shipping). Still made a saving though since there was a 30% blowout sale.
