Hi all,
I'm trying to make a 250mm quad-copter for which I am planning on ordering some parts from Hobbyking except for the transmitter/receiver and Lipo batteries(which apparently cannot be shipped anyway)...I am going to order the last two items from local RC shops like hobbysea, rcbazaar, quadkopters etc.
I know a lot of you order frequently from Hobbyking...however, I don't have much experience of ordering from them (except for a pair of CW and CCW 5045 3 blade propellers). Since this order would exceed $200, would it involve any complications from customs' side? Would it be wise (and cheaper) to order from local hobby-shops instead? Pl help...

Here is a list of the parts that I want to order from Hobbyking...(I will actually order additional spare motors, escs and props for safety which will bring my order up to $200 range including shipping)

If order a 2.4 GHz radio from HObbyking and then apply for the WPC import license, will I obtain the license before the order arrives at the customs office?
I am not a businessman, just a hobbyist and will order a single radio along with motors, ESC s, frame etc. from Hobbyking. Will my order come through without any trouble? Will I obtain the import license in time?
As per the rules that I have read on the WPC website, I don't have to pay any fee for 2.4GHz systems. Do I have to for pay anything else? Please help me out...

Why reinvent the wheel?
All the items that you mentioned are locally available at LHS
Get it from them and live in peace. The price difference (though small) is totally worth the pain dealing with customs.

Are you saying that ordering all parts from LHS would be cheaper in the end? By the price difference that I calculated is close to 4k minimum  ...which LHS are you referring to?

It would be months before you get the wpc licence , your radio will get stuck at the customs . Just buy everything from india itself . Rcdhamaka , rcbazar , vibrant hobbies are all great choices.

The price of Turnigy TGY-i10 10ch 2.4GHz Digital Proportional RC System with Telemetry (Mode 2) is showing just $169.12(11092.83inr)
is it real cost or not. Should i buy it???

You shouldn't buy tx and rx from hobbyking because of customs.. They sell it cheap but it might get stuck in customs and mostly (I think) they destroy imports with some kind is frequency level or something... and even if it passes the customs, you will have to pay loads of money..
So don't buy it

I want to buy a 2.4ghz 2ch receiver module for my RC car. I have a transmitter module of Flysky FS GT-2. I searched the receiver and found one on hobyking.com for 6$ . On the checkout page, they show me a total of 11$ including shipping in India. Should i buy it frrom there? I am worried and dont know abt the customs and whether there will be any problem or extra charge. Please  help me out here! Thanks in advance

And also i want to know whether the receiver available there will be compatible with my Flysky transmitter or not. I found the same product on hobbyshop.in for 660rs but ii read on this forum that it is not a reliable HS. So i dont want to take any risk

It can get caught in the customs and under the current circumstances, your rx wouldn't be reaching you any sooner without making a big hole in your pocket...
I recommend seeing some of the LHS in india
