I am not sure how this whole shipping by SingPost works. Do they use a courier to send the parcels to Singapore? If yes, then that explains the delay.

See Raja,
This is not only with SG post. this has happened with HK post too, with the falsified days were in 5-6 days range.
my point is HK is not doing social service sending item to us. We pay dearly to them (and it is higher than what HK Post lists in their site). If people throw the argument of 'Volume Shipping' shit, then I think it is already covered when HK adds 200g for an item which weighs only 90g.
Having said above, it is HobbyKing problem to use the best postal for the price we pay, as they are not obliging us with 'Free Shippin'

Last, it is indeed open and shut case of misleading and fraudulent information. No mater what is your arrangements with the postal Dept, please just dont put "Shipped" and "generate post dated Tracking#" unless you really ship it. It is the naive excuse that "We sent out the package to Post Office, our dispatch guy went to his village for 5 day."
Unlike other online shops, HK does not even put and advicory for delayed shipping due to festivals or understaffing.
It is a gross omission of conduct and business practices by HobbyKing on pretext of 'Cheap Pricing'. Cheap is not Free at the end of the day.

Adn yes, these are strong words, as I dont come here for time passing... those who think I am exaggerating, please tell if the proof I have  is wrong. Often people like me are ridiculed , mocked and trolled by Fanboys as we are paranoid/retard/fool, which is sometimes the otherwise.

Johny you sound like

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear
Jeremiah 5:21

People who do a lot of HK shopping know, they Cheat on (a) Weight (b) Date of shipping (c) Earn on Shipping (Yeah !! Sad but true), and with you 100% on that.

In spite of these, they are perceived as cheap, by far they are doing a good job out of it. however, off-late a lot shops like Banggood, goodluckbuy, sdshobbies, etc etc are eating into HK's market and are doing a damn good job at that

PS
I am referring to only cheap charlie chinese goods here

The reason I am saying Hobbyking is not cheating (in this case) is because the tracking on Hongkong post clearly suggest that the parcel was registered on the day it was shipped from Hobbyking warehouse. I went back and checked another tracking and it has the same result - pic attached.
If you check the next event on the tracking, it is 4 days after the first event. To me this means, HK post took 4 days to process/dispatch the parcel.

So, question is why does HK post take 4 days to process/dispatch Hobbyking parcels and only 1 day for rc711 parcels. I think it because of the volume. HK post are not able to handle the number of parcels received from hobbyking.

QuoteHaving said above, it is HobbyKing problem to use the best postal for the price we pay, as they are not obliging us with 'Free Shippin'
I agree. In the end, the customer has to wait a long time for Hobbyking parcels. They should identified and fixed this problem loong back, but they didn't. They continued with Honkong post and still do so .... not sure why

Actually, if they club together say, a week's India orders, and airfreight to an airport in India, clear customs, then send by local courier it will be very fast. Whole process max 6~8 days.

Raja
there is more to it than that meets the eyes. if a unit parcel bag isn't full (An unit parcel bag is like 200-500 individual parcels), 'item into the bag' 'item received etc' remains so, after it lands in India, while at customs the unit is opened checked and individually cleared.

all this is, so that, that Unit bag, to ship it costs much much less than what they have charged you for.

I hope i have been lucid enough

For example

4-6,  ... 60 to 90 size ARF makes a unit parcel and approx costs 10$/ARF landed. so you can imagine, how much are HK is earning on shipping alone, Not to talk of their usual gimmick like 27 gms 102 gms etc where the weight of the parcel jumps to the next bracket. some items are shipped only through EMS, costs a bomb yet takes as much time. :banghead:

Once again i say, in spite of all this HK is OK

Bingo Gusty sir!
It is HK we pay for the shipping and not to HK/SG/Swiss post. Whatever 'Volume' arrangement HK have with them is TOTALLY HK's part of omission and commission. If HK charges us the usual 'RC711' rates of individual parcel, and then cut corners by aggregating  the individual items, (which is some times Illigal under international trade laws) to gain margin on Shipping we pay to them, isn't it HK who is at fault ??

Isn't it funny that Out Bound time from "Shipped" to "Left for Destination country" at HK side is today much larger than "Item received at Destination country" to "Delivered at door" ?? Especially when Postal Service like Indian Post and bad mouthed Indian customs are responsible at the last mile ??  And please dont be judgmental about me... till last year, I too was Ga-Ga about Hobbyking, till my mirage was broken my a fellow flyer.

See the world, Spend wise, don't remain a frog of the well.

The parcels with tracking code - RC XXXXXXXXX HK or RB XXXXXXXXX HK are only tracking series which show the status "Receive item from customer (Otb)" on the same day. If you have notice these series you get mostly when the weight of the package is equal or less then 500gms.

But all the package other than these series, can takes upto 10 days+ too (i myself have exp this many times). I don't think it's post office issue, the issue is with Hobby King only, as i guess they may be waiting to get the dispatch truck full from there warehouse to send to post office, instead sending it daily.  they should seriously do something for this and should not do the weight tricks they do for items :(

PS: my last order shows the shipping - shipped on 23rd, but till today its not traceable :(

So, gentlemen, what do we do about this situation, which everyone feels is intolerable?

Do we like good Indians, grumble all the while, and keep forking out hard-earned money, with the associated headaches?

Or, do we actually try to do something about it?

1. We are a group of modellers, of various means and resource, but all of us are pretty savvy and not fools

2. We have significant joint purchasing power, though in HK's book it is not much. Therefore a representation to HK may well be ignored.

3. We have another option: appoint a CNF Agent, club our orders either say fortnightly, or when a certain weight/volume/value is reached, get godown delivery from HK, and airfreight to India, followed by local courier

Just an idea, open up guys, with more!

I just noticed that if we change the prices to GBP in the site the price comes down of all the products when changed to INR or does it, when we pay the exchange rate?

I tried what Prateek says....but when it takes you to paypal page....it automatically converts the money to USD as it is the default payment used by Paypal for INDIA - think so...

Shipping might seem expensive but you're paying for the convenience of someone in Hong Kong going to the warehouse, picking and packing, going to the Post Office to mail, then someone at airport loads it onto the plane, then the pilot flies your parcel, then Indian workers deliver it to you if you don't pay customs first.

Compare that to you burning up petrol to drive across the city to the largest LHS in town and the time and effort to evade those auto rickshaw who nearly crash into you!
