Guess Hobby King is not shipping Lipos by other shipping options and is giving only Fedex Priority.  Which works out to roughly $38 - 45 in my case.  Guess its $10 extra per lipo for me if I get it shipped by HK...... Earlier had paid just $18 for surface registered shipping and it too arrived in about 15 days.  Can someone share some light as to why HK is offering on Fedex Priority for lipo and nothing else.?

@shobit sir is not just for lipo even i wanted a 80g mobius that  too appears with shipping of minimum $38 fedex option and nothing else..

Try it again , all the shipping options are available again , atleast for me.

My order containing the following was not accepted by them , it contained the following
1 - Infrared thermometer
2 - servo centring device
3 - Hd wing camera

Reason the helpline guy told me was one or more of these have a lipo and we cannot ship it to India (not even DHL or FEDEX was offered)
This was a week back

Mail category says its "Air" but why is it taking this much time to reach India? None of my earlier parcels took this much time. Any idea? I would understand if it were "Surface" mode.

no matter if it is "air" or "surface" that parcel 'll reach india by air from singapore.
i have faced this kind of problem with HK. Singapore post received that packet on 26th last month. so you immediately contact HK and tell them you've not received the parcel yet. after that a case will be opened. and soon you'll be informed.
but i am telling you ips tracking does not  always provide the accurate location. if it is possible you first contact with your local post office and foreign post office. After they confirm that the parcel is not in india you can inform HK.

Ok thanks. The reason I asked is because recently people have been receiving parcels only after 2-3 months for those who didn't order using EMS or fedex. Apparently another package which was ordered about 5 days before this one has already arrived about 10days back. So, something must be wrong is what I suspect.

The duty will depend on the items included in your package.

royalaksay, for ebay.com purchases, first you need a paypal account and a Credit card linked to it (If you don't have creditcard visit www.entropay.com) 
And about customs, it depends on what you are buying, for most of the purchases that don't contain any regulated items, no duty is charged.
The order will reach your home through India post - your local postman will deliver it.
