I am sorry to interfere but AFA my experience is concerned, It usually takes more than 14 days average with Registered Air Mail atleast for me. You are considered lucky if you receive a parcel shipped through airmail in less than 14 days. And That is why EMS costs more. Just think, Why would you pay more the cost than Airmail if Airmail can get your parcel delivered mostly in two weeks.

Even more than one and a half month gone this time and still waiting for my last parcel to arrive. And that reminds me a great "saying" here in Indian R/C community...

but sumeet so far out of my four orders the time taken to recieve the parcel from the date of being shipped.
for
1st order - air parcel - 15 days
2nd order - air mail - 8 days
3rd order - air mail - 9 days
4th order - air mail - 14 days,
so i just guessed based on my experience

I want to import the HK 450 V2 Heli kit . It is quite cheap at 30 usd . But the problem is , hobbyking ships it through EMS . Has anyone imported these kits through EMS before ? Do the customs people give trouble ?  I usually prefer registered airmail.


Any advice and help will be appreciated

no ive not imported nd want to , import and im also seeking help from some senior members

Oh k so i have placed order with HK on 21st March shipping method was Air Parcel Registered, order was shipped on 24th March and i got it today i.e. 29th March. Which is like faster than EMS cos my prev order was shipped using EMS which took 2 weeks.

But again i guess this time varies between 10-14 days.

satya can u pm me ur tracking no. coz my order was placed on 19th march but stull hasnt reached india itself,

this is flow that i think what is followed.
Parcel once is sent from HK by air to India, it arrives next day.
It stays a day or 2 at airport, then goes for delivery.

So 1 day in air, 2 days at airport and 4 days max for, airport to home.
so its like 7 days max and 4 days min.

I ordered an Engine Starter of 19$ and a 6 cell battery from HK.

This innocent parcel was detained by customs  ...  Wot was the crime can any one explain? it has no radio, no receiver, transmitter etc etc.  which may raise the eyebrows of THE CUSTOMS dept.

Cost of the parcel and reason for detention??

When was it detained?? is it been more than 7 days?? if yes then call them up and about it.. Do you have BY number if no then ask from them for it..

The manner in which HobbyKing sends packages leaves any customs to detain them. They don't put proper invoice, hardly any credible origin address etc. Indian custom holding it is not anything to panic about. There was a time when all my parcels used to get stuck and I had to go to the PAD.

Simply take a printout of the Invoice and write a letter to Superintendent of PAD, describing what is the use if the items and their prices and go in person. I am pretty much sure that they have held/detained it due to lack of 'proper' invoice.

It once took me 12 days and my last order took a little more than a month.

How many orders do I need to make to become a platinum member on HK? And what's the advantage?

As per Hk's statement,min order to become platinum member is 8..If u r a platinum member,u'll be given preference n ur order will be processed fast..

What preference ? what fast processing ? all gimmick... yes, they do offer best price to Platinum members, the only reason.

What is next level after Platinum and what is the criteria
