archit

hyd_quads

Has anyone gone to Jack's hobbies and seen their GEMFAN props?
Are they genuine Gemfan props? They're so cheap...... or too cheap to be true? :D

I have had an average experience. Some of the stuff is pretty overpriced. The staff when hes not around are clueless on what to sell.

theflyer

Why is there a banner on jacks site saying no transactions please

i see prices of some of the balsa planes and other stuff is very competitive, Probably Mr Vinod is taking note. Will be good to watch out what is unfolding at Jack's Hobbies

Sorry for the bump, but I recalled my friend saying that he had seen Jack's hobbies stall in the AeroShow held in the old airport here in March 2012. I did go but couldn't find it. Has anyone seen him there or anyother events?

speedbird.va1

Well, i agree with you.. I personally have quite a bit of experience dealing with vinod while i was in flying school at Hyderabad, as i am from Hyd as well..infact i purchased my first nitro(arising star) from him and more after that and never had a bad experience. He is a passionate flyer, used to fly at Nadergul Airfield with us. Apparently not connected after i shifted to Hosur airfield, quite shocked after seeing all these messages against him.

Talking of attitude, dont we all have it then?

I agree with your point Sir but as a customer would anyone like to hear abuses.Anything below the belt would not be tolerated atleast by me.Mr.Vinod did happen to return my money but I know what I had to go through for that. All this started when I was new to the hobby and was making my first RTF plane purchase. Now i have been dealing with Rcbazaar,Rcdhamaka and sphere hobbies never have I had any attitude problems with them .

This topic was started by me just to make fellow aero modellars aware of my experience.

Well, after all its the customer's choice..Yes, we dont pay to get abused..If the negative feedback is more than positive one, something definitely seems to be wrong.. :headscratch:

Well In this regard I also have a short and sweet story for everyone to know...!!

As I was a new-new-bie and did not know anything about this forum and wanted to buy 2 Channel Pistol Radio... I found his website on google and found a Pistol Radio 2 Channel Chineese one... He charged 3500/- bucks for the same for which I readily agreed... Once I went to deposit the fund he called me to remind to add an amount of Rs. 175/- to Rs. 3500/- as the charges of deposit from different city (which later I found out are Rs. 90/-)... later again he called to ask whether I required bill or not for which he said I need to add 17% of 3500/- to the amount... On the top of it he also wanted Rs. 300/- for shipping...

So total for a Chinese radio he demanded Rs. 3500/- + Rs. 175/- + Rs. 595 (17%) + Rs. 300/- = Rs. 4570/-

I deposited Rs. 3975/- excluding bill... (Luckily I was sponsored from College for my venture of Airboat) but now after knowing in detail about Radios, it still hurts me...

For beautiful Garnishing on the deal he did not replied to any of my queries regarding radio after the payment rather said "Once you have purchased radio you can search it from internet about its details... Don't bother me again and again unless you need anything else... I am a busy man..."

It would have been end of my thoughts for this hobby from this incident if I hadn’t found RCIndia…

Thankyou...

PS: In this episode I never abused nor did any action which might question the integrity of the buyer... not even after my purchase... I thought it better to drink the hatred rather than spilling it out...

Dear Speedbird I do not not have anything against Mr.Vinod but after hearing from other forum members dont you think Mr.Vinod should learn some basic manners to deal with customers. It shakes you when you are beginning with this hobby and you come across such LHS

Wow!!! 2012 was the last post and still in 2014 this boob hasnt changed. Thats just...... pathetic - for the lack of a more appropriate word!

Unfortunately I didnt read this before venturing out. Shitty experience at Jacks, I think you might appreciate the new slogan for Jack's hobbies which I thought up whilst bored in the car. Im pasting the review I left online on his page;

>>

~~Once you go Jack, you'll never go back!~~

Horrible experience on all accounts!

I first called them to ask for availability for multirotor products, the lady who picked up didnt have a clue as to what I was talking about and told me to refer to the website (which in itself isnt the best of experiences), and then I followed up again and got Jack's number, which again was a rather disappointing call because from the start he just sounded like he wanted to hang up, and he told me its best to visit his store.

Today I did go to the store, again a sad experience because its a tiny little space (you'd expect more when you see the huge banners on entry) with not much in it except for rather over priced stuff -- and hey I dont mind over priced stuff so long as Im getting a full service and what I want when I want it, but no, the lady at the store tells me she doesnt know pricing for stuff - so she calls her boss Jack up, and post the call refused to sell me anything until her boss (Jack) came back in half an hour because he told her not to.

WTF?? So he expects me to wait around for him for half ah hour?! Also there was another gentleman standing around and in me trying to talk some customer relations sense to the lady, he tells me that he too has been waiting for Jack for over 40 minutes! I hate people who do not respect others' time. Shitty service, sad product line up, crappy pricing. And the stuff there didnt *look* very original (and other reviews I just read too mentions that they are cheap chinese knocks offs, but im no expert so im not commenting on that -- but go figure! Also worthy of mention - they stock only one DJI product which is horrendously over priced!

If youre looking for RC stuff, youre better off ordering online, I can vouch for the Shah brothers www.rcdhamaka.com in Bangalore and also the new official DJI dealers are in Delhi I forget their name (check DJI website) You dont wanna buy from unofficial dealers when it comes to DJI, im talking from experience! Just to be clear, Im not commenting on products because I wasnt sold anything (not even freakin shrink wrap), this is more about the service and customer care.

I just wasted almost an hour in traffic! Sitting in the car whilst writing this!

I understand you are disgusted waiting, but given the fact that you haven't bought anything from him, aren't you being a little HARSH ? Would you after back in your couch and a lemonade down reconsider what you have written ?

Let me tell you, this business in india is not very lucrative, people buy from abroad all the time and are ready to wait for months on end, my 14MZ charger cable arrived from Tower Hobbies 3 months after ordering the same. I guess a lil leeway is in order. Think about it

*chuckles*

Agree, it is harsh, but too harsh -- no.

When you call up a business owner, and he tells his appointed personal to "tell him to wait for half an hour", correct, "tell" not ask/request, then im sorry, but harsh is warranted. Add to that the fact that preempting the "situation" in India, as you put it, I called ahead and yet got a sad response, again, harsh warranted.

And yes, a watermellon sorbet and a rather delicious ganna juice later, I can tell you, Im still pretty pissed with the whole experience, and this message I wrote was fueled by the fact that he kept that poor other guy waiting for 40 minutes, telling him hes "almost there" to just hang on, and then on the phone tells me to wait another 1/2 hr not realising that the other fool would catch on to his "almost there" antic too.
An attitudinal liar with disregard for others, and im not supposed to be harsh?  :banghead:

I meant what I said, I would have paid the 16000 for the quad frame and got it from him today, when I could have gotten the same darn thing for 100~120$ if I waited for my next shipment. I was prepared to do that because I as a customer am going there knowing I will get what I want because there is a business offering it, and being a busioness one would expect them to appreciating my time and money for the same, but our dear Jack disregarded both accounts, so heck, harsh is ok naah? :P

Nuff said!  :salute:

BUT, I will add, I appreciate the fact that you said this, that you pointed out the perhaps unwarranted harshness, good on you matie! Nice to know there are more level headed people on the forum.  :hatsoff:

PS: LOVED your signature! Two thumbs up matie!

OMFG I feel like such a little noob right now... I dont even know what half that stuff is!! Woahhhhhhhhhhh..... @rcpilotacro you've been a naughty, albeit a busy little boy!!! Now we know where all the planes are at!!  (:|~ And I see youre in Hyderabad too, we must break bread sometime!
Infact I just realised we'll have alot of talk about, I have 2 wing commanders in the family! I think Parsee's seem to have some sort of an affinity to the air force and the navy! Another more distant uncle was vice admiral! I love people from the forces, what character! Do you stay somewhere near Medchel? I visit a friends farm house there quite often when Im in town, just past the cant area, planning to build a little runway there for a microlight, been looking around to see if I can find something under 20L and figure out how to scam my way thru permissions :P :D

And since were on the topic of praise, Bhavesh, youre a star! Always been a pleasure talking to you!

I know of a Gusty from Coimbatore, used to build race cars for my dad back in the day. I just realised I never actually knew his real name, and only today realised that it must have been Augustine too :)
And speaking of coimbatore, wondering if Aeroworks has finished his website redesign. Its been a while since I ordered from them!

Thank you for your kind words all of you, that is not even fraction of what people have in India. Some of'em own state of the art stuff and some have been very decent to let me fly them. Santhosh Xantos (Nandan) to name a few. Indore accepted me like their own.

yes  !! i consider to be blessed to have met and befriended so many good people.
