i mentioned anonymous... ..and my reply was addressed to Anwar if he says so i will do it rite away

Wow!!! this sounds like Reality-War in down town Mumbai!! And I bet the mail would have come from a nearby city.

Anwar, I believe you taking side of the those 'Crooked' LHS is actually a Pun. We all have been talking that these 3-4 fold prices at LHS is purely because of economy of scale, and as volumes goes up, prices WOULD come down.
Now long time back I wrote that going by the leech attitude of some LHS, even in such days they won't bring down the prices.

Pvn receiving such 'threatening' mails is one of such proof. I mean this is a direct
offense against we R/C enthusiast and we should collectively boycott buying from them, lest Pvn reveals their names (One can get address from the source IP in the e-mail)

Keep up the good work Pvn. Your prices is your USP. What have they suggested would bring you among them and surely deprive you from such an amazing volume of sale.

I once asked a Sardarji, selling the best Chole-Kulche of Lajpat Nagar(Delhi) at a price  less than other shops around, on why is he selling at a lower price? He said "I want to make xx profit. Whether I make it by selling 100 plates or selling 150 plates doesn't matters. Even on a bad day, I would be selling 50 plates, when others would be able to sell none!!!"

Be like that true spirited Sardarji! Setup an Online Shop and keep away from Forum-Crap. People would anyway talk about your price and variety and you would never need to advertise. I would call that a Healthy 'Monopoly'

Thankfully the owner of HobbyCity is not living in India. Else such people would have given 'Supari' for his head!!

Cheers!!

I am not sure where you got that idea from... that I am taking sides with crooked LHSes.  The mail that was forwarded to me was not talking about 3x or 4x prices, and it was not threatening either. It was talking about Paypal fees, taxes etc, which are genuine concerns.   In any case, I have made my stand on this clear.

If Praveen is making decent profits at these rates, and feels he can keep doing this long term, that's end of the "pricing" debate !

I am involved in multiple businesses in India (outside of the software/consulting world) that involve keeping stock of physical items and trying to sell them, and let us just say that I have a pretty clear perspective of what it involves. Everything I have said so far and my stand about the mails to increase prices is based on that insight, and partly from seeing LHSes in operation up close and personal (I was asked multiple times to become a partner in more than one LHS, with all operational details) :)

Sorry Anwar, I put your reference just jokingly and mean no offense to you. No other forum in India (not just RC) could have such a wonderful , open and selfless moderator/oner ever, who has absolute-zero financial intent with the proceeding of the forum.

I have learnt some other implication on people here in BLR, which I cannot divulge here, which really sadens me.

Any indication of people putting pressure or even suggestion to increase the price is outrageously undemocratic and monopolistic. I learnt that PVN is a successful business in other field and he would have arrived at the pricing after calculating all the overheads.

Such suggestion of increasing the price clearly means
'We would not lower the prices, you better increase it so that all of us remain happy'

If this was true for other commodities and durables in India, a 21" CTV would have cost Rs 80,000 today (it was Rs 18,000 in 1990's) and only people driving in Car would have had Cellphones, was there no competition to lower prices due to volume.

When people are offering discount, 'Diwali Dhamaka', such a covert suggestion to increase price is simply a sinister act of 'Black Marketing'

Just my 2C... as people in India are one of the most price sensitive.

Think it was way back in 2003. Paaji was selling at Rs 5 when others were selling at Rs 8, does it really matter?  Even though I see a similar ratio here (much more in in Giant scale), PVN's range of choice is itself compelling for him to be in the business.

I just dot' believe in the dogmatic philosophy that even sellers need to make money for living. So don't buy from some one selling cheaper to support the over priced ones?  Almost all LHS here have R/C only as a side business. Except maybe Rotor etc. So why this hypocrisy ?

<Edit for Crazy Pilot, as I don't want to hijack the thread>
The Sardarji used to Sell from a Maruti Omni, somewhere near Chung-wa Restro in Lajpat Nagar Market. Should be selling at 12-15 bucks now. Miss my Delhi days...

Hmmm... a whole new perspective !

Gentlemen... I would request that we stop further discussion along these lines. There is enough information here for everyone to form their on opinions about who is who and what each individual's intentions and manners are.  Let us leave it at that.

Any competition, let it play out in the market ! As for forums, let people use them to know about great deals from all stores !

And I have to say that it was nice of the Captain to clearly explain why this whole line of discussion was started, in his post : http://www.rcindia.org/deals-and-special-offers/rcdhamaka-diwali-dhamaka/msg36948/#msg36948

KALYANPRODHAN

Respected Praveen Sir,

First Thank you for adding a menu bar in right with subject.
Secondly, you have earned respect and quite attention from the senior members who invested a handsome amount of hard earned money and you have opened the lowest cost challenge with good service.

I can remember that when I bought APC 500VA UPS for Rs. 4300/- while, market price was 4500/- everywhere, I was happy, But in Next COMPASS, (3 months later), it's new version costs Rs.3200/- and in 6 months, cost gone down to Rs.2400/- and I shocked. YES, SHOCKED.

Therefore, I am asking you to add a few words clearly about, what is inclusive and what is exclusive but you need to complete ("You Get", "You must Required" & "Optional Add Ins").

I again request you to include low cost infrared controlled micro plane for sell which can be added with any shipment for gifting and attracting newcomers to this hobby.

And a few combo offers, for a complete setup, of course matched ones, like "Electric Complete (Upto xxx), "Electric complete Excluding Radio", Drive+Servo (Upto xxx), + lots more.

You may reduce the header image size a little bit with animated GIFs with your special offers.

However, one request, Please make fast loading as possible as of now. Your simple site is really a simple example in the complex world. Make modification not disturbing your business.

Thanks
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.

For your information both the planes are Alfa Model planes and willing to buy them and they are not rare or custom built. You are a LHS also is that right.
Like Anwar has said will not post anymore on this topic everyone can form their opinions.

Friends...

I have been notified of at least one case in relation to this thread, where someone sent a PM to one of the LHSes, the content of which can be summarized as "name calling" (not profanity, yet derogatory) :(

First and foremost, let us not lose the element of respect that we have for one another, even while one party thinks he is right and the other is wrong.

Secondly, this forum is free and open, which comes with the direct consequence that any discussion/debate etc should be done in public.  Of course there is no point in asking "will you come the field on Sunday" or "I am offering Rs.2000 for the lipo you have on sale" etc in public. But beyond that, let us discuss issues in public, and not on PMs. And be prepared to be questioned about what you say.  PM is not a medium to settle scores.
