So its not for UAE alone. I think they are having some problem with Hong Kong post. I remember Mr. Anwar quoting something like that. :headscratch:

We have received packages unusually late via Swiss post, but some came in fine.  Many people have seen their packages routed via swiss post.

They have warehouses in multiple countries too.

The only reason why HobbyKing is using Swiss Post is the backlog of Hong Kong Post. There is still a backlog of 1week at Hong Kong Post. Even Speed Post items are taking longer time. Small packets are being released by Hong Kong Post at earliest possible...

If you order anything at HobbyKing, combine 2-3 orders of your friend and order in bulk. Select Registered Post. HobbyKing will automatically upgrade you to Speed Post, which will be sent through Singapore.

It takes 4 days for your parcel to reach singapore. From there your parcels are given to SwissPost ( for registered mail) or sent through Singapore Mail (For Speed Post).

Whatever is comming through Swiss Post, arrives at Mumbai airport. The parcel is evaluated at Dietzenbach. So 90% of the parcels are not opened when they arrive in Mumbai... A very good time to get planes, ARF, RTF, Helis.

MAKE SURE YOU ASK HOBBYKING TO INCLUDE AN INVOICE IN YOUR PARCEL. That delays the parcel. So if you are in a hurry then you can print it from your account yourself and send it to the customs department if your parcel is stuck in customs. Do not send a credit card statement or bank statement!!! Because if you have declared just 30% or something of the original value on the parcel and the declared value on the parcel does not matches up with the invoice value or the value in the credit card statement, then you are in serious trouble...

bmanoj2

WOW Anam Thanks :) I was bit worried abou my parcel, I dont mind the delay as long as I get it ;D

I suggest that do not follow india post IPS Web Tracking. They never update the status. Once it is mailed from Dietzenbach, it takes 2-3 days to reach india. Then another 2 days to reach you.

bmanoj2

I am not in India now, I ordered to Dubai and here its ok once it arrives the sorting centre you can track it.

Here the post office got a customs wing within. But only if the order is above 300 USD they will look at you. And hobby king never reach that figure ;D :giggle: :giggle:

Ohk... then it is just the swiss post which is taking time... there are about 1500+ HobbyKing parcels at their airport. So it may take some time. I must mention here that some parcels also do get lost... what is the stats at swisspost website?

yes... then it must reach your country by tomorrow. then i dont know what is the procedure in your country, but it will take not more that 2-4 days to reach you AFTER IT REACHES YOUR COUNTRY and is registered in your country...

bmanoj2

Once it reach the airport Max 2 days (But if it reaches on a thursday then only after 3 to 4 days)

I would discourage HUGE parcels containing too many items. If just not paying duties, the chances of that getting held is higher.

And Swiss post won't inspect package on Indian Customs behalf. In fact Mumbai and Delhi customs are known to be most brutal in the recent past as they are the most sensitive cities of the country. Your package not being opened is just the random chance, not the virtue of Swiss post.

Swiss Post or Honkong Post, the risk of importing RTF/ARF/Radio would remain the same. Be wise in ordering  from overseas.

Actually, swiss post has its own clearing agents in major cities all over the world. it is even mentioned in their websites. Yes... I agree that big parcels get caught in customs... But big parcels would be benificial only because of the free upgrade to speed post. a large order means large savings in shipping also which is also a concerning thing.

Or the next best thing that can be done is seperate the electronics into one part and non electronics into one. Hobbyking is working upon getting the parcels to singapore for dispatch more faster... with the more parcels comming in, swiss post is also boosting up and accelerating the process... now instead of 15-20 days it is aiming towards 15-16 days.

I recently was updated that hong kong post is again being used by hobbyking. It has released many parcels through hong kong post. They are now even registering parcels at a faster rate than before as a daily routine...

Hi Guys !!!

Hobbyking has now started including an INVOICE in the orders. Infact even the customer can take a print of the invoice himself and take it to the customs (if required) for clarification.

Check your orders online and you will find a link "Paid Customs Inv" Click on that and you will get your invoice, ready to be printed.

This is great as a lot of times customs ask for invoices which were missing earlier.

Great Job HK !!!!  :salute:

Cheers!!!

yes... ive noticed it too... now the only thing left is that they should include the invoice in the parcels, we dont have to request them to include it in the parcel... this will make the customs clearance more easy....
