Hi Guys,

I wanted to check if anyone has ordered from hobbyking via International Air Mail  (please note I am not talking about International Registered Air Mail) if yes please help answer the below questions :-

1. Were you able to track your order via the tracking number provided.
2. How many days did it take for the parcel to reach you here in India (Delhi)
3. Did you find any difference (except price) between International Air Mail and International registered Air Mail.

As far as I know in case of international air mai(IAM)l & Registered Airmail(IRAM) you cannot track the parcel once it leaves Hong Kong.
When parcel reaches India there is facility of tracking it thgrough Speed Post but generaly it is not updated.
Incase of IRAM if you are lucky you can receive the parcel within 10 days(recently I received mine in 07 days) that is if your parcel dose not get stuck in customs.
So the base line is Once the parcel reaches India everything is "Ram bharose".
So keep your fingures crossed & Ram ka naam lete raho ;-))

I had ordered lipo through International airmail (unregistered) I never received the package. When i contacted hobbyking they told they cant provide support for international airmail (unregistered). So in my view its better not to go for the unregistered one....

I ordered from HK worth of 150$ goods in ordinary mail service..Go to ur profile page n click on ur order id.It'll show the status of ur order.Once ur order is shipped it'll show a link as track ur parcel here..Click on tat link n u can know the status..My parcel came via singapore speed post..

UNREGISTERED AIR MAIL only upto 300gms permissible - there is NO tracking for this. Also, the value of the items should not exceed $79.00

REGISTERED AIR MAIL only upto 1.85 kg - Tracking number is provided

AIR PARCEL (this is registered - no unregistered available) - Tracking number provided. Max upto 5.5 kg

EMS (ofcourse registered) MAX upto 5 kgs with tracking number provided.

Now the timelines

UNREGISTERED AIR MAIL usually takes 15-20 days. Usually customs are not charged.

REGISTERED AIR MAIL pass through customs and depending upon the weight and size, customs may be charged. Delivery time is anywhere from 15 days to 35 days.

AIR PARCEL - same as registered air mail.

EMS necessariliy have to pass through custms. Every parcel is examined and depending upon the declaration and the nature and quantity of item, duty is assessed. Delivery time - 5 to 20 days.

You may call me Lucky but I have never lost a parcel because of customs or postal service. They have been delayed even upto 90 days, but they have always arrived. Infact all my  unregistered airmails also have come ...

Hey, Thanks guys for the tons of information... well I am just scared that coz I ordered a ASP S61A Two Stroke Glow Engine and selected Air Parcel now am wondering if it would come through or not.

Oh, btw ... has anyone ever ordered a nitro engine from HK if yes what was the experience ?

I have got 'Extra' item twice - once a stray Anti-rotation bracket for Trex 600, which I don't own(any takers? I can send it free) . another time an extra pack of control horn. Only missing item in my 22 odd parcels has been a grub screw missing from a 3mm prop adapter.

I have heard getting Engines via post could be tricky. ASP Nitro Engines are available at much competitive price from RCDhamaka.
Yes, at $140 RCG 25cc Gasser is a tempting item to order from HK!

Just update us Divay what happens with the shipment.

I recently had ordered an ARF plane from HK the edge 540 G2 PRO.... and it had got detained... but was able to get it released in a single visit .. have fixed it now and its ready to have its maiden flight.... btw no duty ... no tipping... a plane ( read plain !) and simple smile

Yeah.. Maj Raj had very recently ordered an ASP 91 from HK. It came through without any issues within 20 days...

Hi Pankaj, I am going for the same tommorow... at the Noida Field... this is on the greater noida express way.....

the tracking is available till the boder point of destination country.. it will be available on Hong Kong Post Website. After that, the parcel cannot be tracked in India... Sometimes it becomes very difficuly to track that it is in Customs or not.

I am not aware that there is a field on the expressway. Where is it? near the ATS Greens? Would help if I could get hold of the locations and the times of folks who frequent.

This is my first Electric, prior to this I have been flying nitro planes.. am kinda tensed as I have no clue as to how electrics react, though I have done some ground tests... but I do feel that the ESC is heating up... hmmm...

I am a newbie but into electrics. So I have noticed that ESCs do get warm, but should not be 'hot'. If you feel the temp is pretty hot, then please check the Batt/Esc/Motor setup.

Thanks Divay. All the very best for your maiden... I am sure it will be great and a lot of fun. Just ensure the CG well. No compromise on CG. Hopefully ESC will cool down as there will be dynamic air passing over. If it is warm, its fine, but it should not be getting so hot that you are unable to touch it.   It should be reasonably warm and pretty much touchable. Just see if you can place the ESC where it gets some prop wash.

Yes sir!
One of my shipments came in open (the postman for some reason, drops them off with the society security) with the Hyperion battery box empty & copper bearings missing.

My guess is someone before the local post master - but i am not sure who all handles these packages

Can someone help me understand who could have done this?

Btw this is First-Class Mail International package.
