Hi seniors ,
I am a first year B.Tech student from Amrita University, Coimbatore. Just thinking of importing some stuff and selling it in the Indian market, this summer holidays(Just for some pocket money ;)). How about the demand. Will this idea be possible for me ???. Also I am thinking of importing for my own use, a heli from xheli through one of my dad's past student residing in the US. The web address is http://www.xheli.com/50h03-eagle50-24ghz-lcd.html . This includes a Tx/Rx. I am ready to pay the customs. But my friend told that even being ready to pay the customs, it is not possible to import a Tx/Rx. :'( So how am I to import Radios.
Thank you
a cousin of mine residing in US , some years ago brought a futaba radio (dont remember the no of channels) through his personal baggage (think so) , i was not in this hobby at that time...... there are many other threads in this forum dealing the same topic,.... go through them , it may help.....................

Importing tx/rx is a big headache and will be very difficult. I think you need a restricted import license. I however, don't have any idea about it. I am also a first year student, but i guess it will be very difficult for you to import tx and rx. Secondly, how long are your summer holidays. Let me guess about 2months. Remember that it will take about 3 weeks for any imported stuffs to arrive excluding the custom hassles.
You will however be able to import electronics without much hassles.
So, weigh your chances. And you will also have to face stiff competition from other sellers.
Anyhow, best of luck.
P.S :- I don't know what will happen if someone else carries the TX and brings it with him. I was referring to the case where you import the radios.
Hi,
I suggest you to go for low value, generic items, like connectors, cables, horns, etc. inspite of going for tx kind of thing. It would be very easy to get stuck with high value material.
All the Best

Yes, I am planning to get with some batteries and ESCs.
The Tx/Rx is for my own use. Thank you for the reply.
hey kiruthi.iaf
i can suggest you importing balsa.......
balsa of high quality from solarbo....
www.solarbo.com
even by paying 25% shipping and 50% customs it will 1/2 to 1/3 the rate you get in India
just ask some experienced members on this forum if this is a good idea....
