I think hobby shop.in has ebay shop as well, you can search the site for thehobbyshop seller

Im feeling so stupid right now!!!! THIS IS THE SAME EBAY STORE I HAVE OFTEN USED. Fantastic seller too, called him a while back for some stuff and was a pleasure to deal with! If im not mistaken hes based in Patna? I only remember that cause I remember he was kind enough to tell me not to order from him if I needed stuff urgently since fedex didnt offer the one day delivery from his city. Decided to order from him only because, well, how many times do u find a seller thats honest with you and doesnt use the god-forsaken term "ASAP". LOL

*facepalm* for not realizing its the same store!
If youre not crashing all the time, you're not flying enough. ~ Atleast thats what I tell myself when I take the broken quad out of my trunk.

IndianHobbyShop

Thanks for the nice words CaptG.

We (Indian Hobby Shop) and thehobbyshop.in are different from each other.

We are based in Patna.
Currently we don't have any website.
Our website indianhobbyshop.com is under construction and will soon be launched.
At the moment we only operate via eBay and due to our esteemed customers support we are a Top Rated Seller there.

And here is the link to our eBay store:
http://stores.ebay.in/Indian-Hobby-Shop

Currently we do have about 330 types of RC Parts, Tools and accessories.

Greets from delhi,
We are a team of wild geeks who share the roof of a junkyard (we also call it office) and an undying passion for Robotics. Back in 2013, our founders (who, by the way own the junkyard)  :giggle: decided to form a company that had a somewhat unreasonable goal, To equip every Indian business, big or small, with a robot or a machine that can simplify their work.  :salute:

Needless to say, since then, we at "RoboSpec" have been designing robots(mostly quadcopters).

To book your customised quadcopter as per your requirements, you are most welcome to trouble us  :hatsoff:

I have to say one of the worst websites that I have ever visited. Usability, which is the most important aspect, has not been given any importance. Seems like something a designer dreamed up while under the influence of something really strong.

i'm sorry anwar sir  :salute:    , but our budget was quite low to hire a professional web designer,
and we mostly conduct workshops.

Also this is not a store, we've been working on arduino platform with special sensors like kinect, sonars, IR etc to make intelligent quads, and we make quads as per the budget and requirements of our clients. That's why we don't have any pre listed items for sale.   :-\

Well yes we saw a dream, and will work for it.  :hatsoff:

anwar

It is not about budgets. It is about keeping things simple.  You don't have to get super star anyone to make sure, for example, that the font is something readable. And so on.

Thanks for your views sir, we'll try to fix that soon.. Let me know if you have other advice as well
It's really good to have you for suggestions out of your schedule..

Serial crasher

@ Roby cool concept i say  {:)}
So how has the receptivity been so far ? Is it mostly college kids who are signing up for these workshops or there is some interest from the corporate world too? Do you talk about how drones can make life simpler in future or its just demo of how drones work? Do you charge for these workshops or are you just trying to generate interest in robots?

I saw your site .Adding in my two cents for whatever it's worth  :hatsoff:

I think accidentally or deliberately you guys bumped upon a "clean look" which is actually not a bad thing   ;D
While it does look like patchwork right now .  A few suggestions :

1) You are wasting your precious top scroll . The logo is just too big and there is no content on the Rhs . If it's a large boxes and clean look you want to chase , you can probably use a Parallax like this site http://www.razorfish.com/

2) Though the colours you chose are fun and vibrant ,it doesn't really go in with a company set to make a name in robotics. You are in the Lego Kids "let's build a castle together" zone currently

3)Other stuff like size of the boxes ,fonts etc. needs to be sorted

4) Make your site SEO friendly . It's amazing what search delivers

5) Sort out your call to action. If you are not selling stuff directly why is the "Buy Now" button there ? It should say something like "Customize your Quad Here" . I see Buy Now and then just below i see a form. Totally confusing

6) You inserted social that's a big +  {:)} But in some pages it's FB and Twitter and in some other pages only Twitter

Maybe it will be worth your while to invest in a good websites. My guess is it will all be the cool colleges and schools whom you will be targeting . And they will most probably find you on the internet , and you sure would want to make a great first impression
Landings are nothing more than controlled crashes

Very informative serial crasher, yeah we're bunch of 8 from iit and Stephens .. We did some workshops and charge a very nominal fee which we devote for our research crew.. Our latest concept was hacking a kinect And try to fly the quad with gestures, well that's not ready yet but we have a few concept drones ready all programmed with common micro controllers.

Also we are working for mahindra infotronics with Mr. Shrish Batchu and mr. Kartik

Anwar sir,

This is a new layout which most E commerce sites are following, it copies the looks of windows 8. it looks good but sucks in terms of speed, needs at least 512kbps of internet to get good performance.
IBM, dell, and few other reputed e-commerce organisations are moving towards this layout and god knews why.

I know, I do some of this for a living ;)  We were one of the companies who worked on converting many of existing apps (iOS & Android) to Windows Phone 7 when it came out. We are well aware of the Metro UI/theme. We work on SPAs too.

What prompted my outburst was the font they chose. It is just horrible to read paragraphs with it !

bold font in an hour sir, aapka hukum sarakho pe
:)

v2 eagle

You are right.
Roby, switch to no-nonsese website layout.
looks at these websites for examples,

aeroworks.co.in
rotor.co.in
lotushobby.com
edallhobby.com

they are clean and puts right on the purpose, a customer will know whats next at the moment they enter the site.

Mr. v2 eagle, its not a clean commerce website, its for request of workshops and concept quads which can help us not with money but with ideas and experiences and can be a good platform to share knowledge..
i think you are slightly rude towards a funky and simple website..
and yeah, i've put on my least effort and money into it..
Still if you feel this website offends you, pm me a list of changes you want and i promise to modify it to the best extent i can..

pradish

Roby, good effort. Not everyone like Win 8 tile look, so keep that in mind. The store link, should actually look like ecommerce web page. I like the simplicity of quadkopter.com. So you can give the tile look miss when it comes to store. If your intent is not to have a store, then label it differently, may be Products or Services. You have created a big picture for Basic Quad, FPV Quad etc, it makes it look a click able link which it is not and hence disappointing. Make the picture smaller or put a click able link. Basic to web design is if you design, you ask a layman internet user to use it and tell you what works and what doesnt.

roby

Fonts updated, thanks pradish for  your reviews, will modify it .. It's good to see you all reviewing my site and posting your suggestions .. A few more modification and that will look amazing

Roby

With sugar on top,

1. i asked you to take these websites as reference, didn't mentioned your site as e-comm site.
2. i love funky ideas and i am not a armyish guy who wants everything to be strict, black and white( is that what you are thinking? im still younger than most people here) but, if you fail to convey your beautiful ideas then its a lot of resources gone down the drain. Remember it doesn't stop from being knowledgeable, but you should know how to convey the ideas 100% to your target audience, then add some titbits to be appealing.
3. i never wanted to offend you, and if you feel like being so, My sincere apologies for you man.i feel like giving a simple and transparent advice, adding cream on the top will defy the purpose of it.
4. Yes, i knew how it pains when you put your money and time and efforts and someone comes and tell you that you made this much of mistakes without appreciating what good you have done. but every successful gentleman came across this phase, and take it wholeheartedly and put the ideas i gave to your heart and the offence you feel in the dustbin.
5.PM you the list of changes?, i defer to give advice for free ( I kid, I kid, will be sending you a PM shortly).
