Stumbled upon this website http://www.sumeetinstruments.com/hitec.htm . The shop is based in Kolkata and according to their website, are the authorized distributors of Hitec products, but I guess they only sell Hitec servos!

The Sharma Model Aero is listed as an authorized seller, however when we click on the link, the Sharma Model aero does not mention Hitec and neither has any options for selling any electronic components. Its only about engines and balsa kits..... LOL

Further, Sai seems to be listed there as well, but not in the address that we know of i.e. rcforall - or is it a different Sai?

I just wrote what I saw on the website. Have no idea whether it is correct or not!

I stand corrected. I have interacted with aeromodelsupermarket, but did not notice the link from the model aero site....

Anyways, the indian sites seem to be selling only servo and not radio equipments Tx/Rx

But, I have to complain about your customer service here. Last year I had inquired about a hotwire cnc cutter but I got no reply from you, so I called up and you said that you would send me the details via email and I did receive an email from you about a week later. After which, I sent another email replying to the one sent by you, however, I got no reply from you till this day. I had also visited your office with Mr. Kalyan Prodhan, and he too had inquired of certain equipment from your representative to which he said that they would again reply via email and he received no reply/details whatsoever.

I do understand that you were in the process of renovating your office(if I remember correctly) and that you were busy, but then the last email was sent more than a month ago, and being a front-line company you should have replied.

Anyways, this is just what I feel, maybe you were extremely busy, I don't know the exact reason so no offence meant!  ;D

As you bring that as complaint on this forum, let me clear...

If you remember, we have clearly mentioned that due to renovation there would be delays and you may also try other sources.

Please understand, you have not purchased anything yet, so there is no issue of customer service from our side. If we have not taken new order during that period its loss to us but you were well open.

However, when you called up, i spoke to you and cleared the technical issues, that the project can be done with servo motors reducing circuit complexity (instead of stepper motor that you planned) and the products are  available, and also sent the datasheet thru email.

We did'nt liked your phrase which you used in each mail "I don't want to be stuck with this!!", and that was the reason you didnt received reply since your last mail.
You could not start or your project stuck - not because of us but due to limitation of resources at self or institutional level.

For your information, we have done projects of students from states like kerala, tamilnadu, andhra pradesh, maharastra, orissa, which involved product sales & technical support.
And you being local, supporting you would have been much easier.

Anyways, best wishes for this new year.

(sorry members, for using this forum to reply)

rohitgupta322

Thank You for your clarification. As for that phrase, I had to do it out of desperation, cause I was interested in garnering local help, and my first email to you was on 11th October, 2011 to which you didn't reply up until the 16th of November. If you were in my place "stuck" in this situation what would you have done. As, always is the problem with Kolkata, there is only one or two companies supplying hobby stuffs, so I had to persist with you.

Had it been a week's delay, I wouldn't have told you anything but this was over a month!!

Anyways, I am sorry if I have offended you!

I just not realised, when I searched and go to their office, there is no trace of RC but looks like a transport office. However, they are so nice and stocks several professional items like soil testing kit, PH meter etc. etc. that i requested them to send me a list of items of them that may be used in our official work. And they took my mail ID.

:hatsoff: Still i am waiting for their mail. As a govt supply they may hesitate for price list, but not understand why item list mail not received. Dont know, Shop renovation starts just after that afternoon ? and e-mail options too.

I saw renovation works here in Kolkata goes for dewali, New year (Bengali/English), or other festivals or during change of ownership/office. But I just throw out the idea for purchasing from them instead from VK,Anam,Sujju,Sai ... as I got earlier.

And this is the case history of Kolkata.
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.

Thank you kalyan for the wonderful comment "transport office". Taking your comment on positive note - Yes, we are "Transporter of Science" since 1990.

So, a 540/- servo is economy grade. While trusted HXT 900 servo (available for 165/-) is not.

As a shop owner, I request you to stock Turnigy 9x Transmitter (bulk order hardly cost you Rs. 4300/-) with 9 Channel and several programming, mixing option even with firmware update option (and of course open source one).

Keep HXT900 and HXT500 with your Hitech Servos as your engineering student wont use them for 10s of years (90% of them in fact). So, their project cost will go lower and spair option will be more.

Vibrator motors are abailable in Chandni Mobile repair spair shops at Rs.65/- and I purchase for Rs. 45/- (From Ramda's 3rd Son's Shop, hope you know him[Ajay] well).

90mAh LiPO @ Rs. 90/-

DC Motors are selling from Rs. 20/- to Rs. 40/- (a 300 size mabuchi clone) and given to VC for testing.

I am not criticizing you but request that if they can give why not you ? those materials, even at 10-20% higher price for low sales volume. At least we can get all from one shade.

As Kolkata become now gateway of the china materials, you will get more option. We, kolkata aeromodellers (not the big guys) waiting for any one OUR Shop.

Thanks

Kalyan:
We have plan for the low cost servos, but nothing can match the Hitec brand value, reliability, quality, precision and these never come cheap.
Since 2003, we are selling Hitec servos - the robots sold then are still at work.
The best part is that Hitec servo's performance is always upto the specs printed, which is one issue that many are troubled with other servos flooded in market.

We have those DC motors 1500 & 4000rpm at Rs.40/- not yet uploaded on site. The vibration & capsule motor were imported from US during initial promotion. What you see is around the globe touring cost added (no twin sharing basis). :) :)

I appreciate the concern and suggestion. You will see more hobby products coming in.....

mail4ajo:
You may use our input 12v DC charger on AC mains by using an AC to DC adapter.
Hitec AC charger will not be available for next few months, in production yet. Yes we do take special order for the non stock product. We will have a shipment coming in another 15 days, let me know if you have any requirement other than the AC charger.

Yes, Kalyan and I bought some of those motors from Chandni and they are more than value for money. 5 stars from me.

Btw, I buy cellphone vibra motors @ Rs.25/- in Ghy. It is a simple job using a Dremel to get rid of the eccentric weights.........

looks like that is a standard servo... and not micro one. a futaba std servo costs around 9-10$.
and tower  rate  for the same is $8 + shipping..... the price seems reasonable...
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDEL5&P=ML

even the Tx-Rx price is reasonable comparing that with tower prices(international standard).....

one question: does the prices on the site include VAT (TAX etc) and  what is the shipping and handling charges

HAPPY LANDINGS

sumeet_sic

On all the products listed on our web, prices are excluding Tax & Shipping.

No price is hidden, As one process the order on our site each component are individually reflected and added. So before you press confirm the order, you know the total price at your door.

Sales Tax is extra @4% for all the products and shipping for a radio system will be approx Rs.130-260. (thru Bluedart or DTDC).

The shipping cost is charged on weight basis and not pre-added on each product. For instance you may buy around 18 servos at shipping cost just Rs.130/-.

Thanks VISHWA for the analysis on our product price,
yes we are trying to maintain the prices at the best possible international rate.

Happy shopping........
