Why not ask someone u know from post office itself. Or u can place a dummy order not more than 10$ to get the idea how things work there?

If the $10 item is too small, E-bay guys would put it in an envelope (unregisterred post) and it would either come without any customs hassle/ duties or get lost (post man/port guys fleecing it)

Best bet is try $2.99/100g package from Hobby King. They send such small packets as small box ( Oxford Mini Dictionary size) which would be a good dress rehearsal/Reece how things would go.

Here is what i do when my parcel is detained. my first question to them always is " WHY HAVE U DETAINED MY ITEM?" they simply say its because of this or that. And I ask them SHOW ME IN WRITING AND GIVE A COPY TO ME". Believe me i have never asked a third question. Try this next time if ur parcel is held up. If they send u a letter stating that u need this or that permission then send them a letter back and ask "please give me a copy of order or policy under which i am required to produce the permission u r asking for because for all I know I don't require any such permission?" All u need to do is ask them to give it in writing and under which policy? Its their job to show u the rule/policy by which they r holding any item. They will never give anything in writing. If they give it to u in writing and u cant handle it further then contact me on PM . But I sincerely hope u wont need to PM me.  I am giving my secret cuz we really need to do something about this and I am fed up. Also note be polite but firm when talking to custom @******s.

Strong words !

The standard "give it to me in writing" may work many times, but what if they refuse to do that, and ask you to leave ?

Thats why I wrote in the end BE POLITE BUT FIRM. You should talk with confidence and look like you know what you are talking about. Do your homework before going there. BTW they can not ask you to leave without answering you. If they do go to their immediate higher authority and explain the situation to him. A better thing will be to get befriended with a lawyer and take him along. Also all this circus is the main reason I never proceed further in getting RC rules in India cleared up.

HI Guys this is my first post on rcindia.org, and I have been very confused whether or not i should order something online or not. But after thinking of nearly after a month i decided to use my debit card online to transfer funds to buy some batteries. i opted for neft transfer yesterday itself to rchobbyaddict.com. Has Anybody faced problems buying products from rchobbyaddict.com if yes then plz. discuss it. Sorry abt. this post. nothing personal with rchobbyaddict.com but m looking forward to order more rc products from them and hence im concerned. till now ive had a good experience with them in terms of talking with them over the phone and they sound very helpful on at all the times and its good. well im sure i will get my batteries ordered from them but plz. reply on this...plz understand its my first transaction online...

sushil_anand

If you have transferred the funds just the previous day, you owe it to them to dispatch the material in a reasonable time. The information you are seeking should, in fairness,  have been asked for before you placed your order.

sushil_anand

Hey! Hold your horses! My post was generic and not, in any way, directed at "why didn't you ask ME  first" !!

You are more than welcome for help, now, and in future.

Hey the seller is a very nice person.  I have asked him a million questions about prices and his reply was prompt and patient. No buying experience though :) He has been on the forum for a long time and many are satisfied with his service. Don't worry :)

anwar

So far, it has looked like the money is as safe with this seller as you keeping it your bank account.

This should be further consolation :

you wont be able to as its your first order...... probably ........ its there new policy i think..... yes earlier they did allow even for first order , but now they don't......

i had the same problem...... asked their chat executive...... he told me.....

now i do see that option for customs declaration......

In my experience duty is charged if the total is 10,000 inr or more. Also I use aramex shop and ship. This way I'm sure my item will reach me in 5 days. And I get tracking updates.
