What do you think should be the most crucial thing about a Hobby shop

Cheapest  Pricing
Huge Stocks of most Demanded items
Variety of Products in limited stock
Quick Shipment
Cheap Shipping charge
Safe/Insured Shipment
Stocks imported under  License
Warranty/ replacement facility
Good Customer care
Multiple Brands of same product
Multiple products of same Brand
Online Payment

After some recent talks of things that went bad with a LHS (because of shipment companies fault) i decided to shoot a POLL on what do you really want from your Hobby Shop, a lot of options have been added, please suggest if you realise the need for more.

I suppose, this POLL would be equally helpful to the buyers as well as sellers.

Thanks
I'll be back.

Huge Stocks of most Demanded items + Quick Shipment + Good Customer care

Customer care is one thing that's missing in almost all LHS' here (baring few exceptions like RCB).

+1 to second_ chance

Fuel variety is almost non existent in our country, and this is something no one really bothers much for (AFAIK). Just a brand or 2 is not a real good thing for a customer.

Option to pay using credit/debit cards. (Paypal or other good payment gateways). This is missing in MOST of the LHSs. I think it's not the shipment that gets delayed often but the processing of payment.

traxxrc1

Lol...My LHS has that...

Can anyone please list up a few LHS that have online payment option?
Please :D

I don't care about payment gateways as long as you can do a fund transfer with order number :)

Payment gateway n cheap shipping..
Ps:

Sorry, Now I remember that I never paid any Indian site using paypal... they normally used citibank, billdesk gateways, etc. :)

@SunLikeStar
Even I don't and so do other hobbyists, but it becomes easier esp. for the seller. Sorting out the payments, pairing them with orders and then checking whether the right amount was sent or not is more difficult. If a payment gateway is used, checkout+payment happen faster too!

traxxrc1

I agree, it more convenient to the seller than the buyer.
But the problem is that payment through cards takes almost 2-3 fays to verify and transfer (AFAIK).

I insist on good variety of fuels  ;D

Payments is not a problem with online transfers or cheques as an option. It's the least of concerns.

Suppose you were to pay Hobbyking ONLY by fund transfer (Assume: HK is in India and HK has no online payment). How would the situation be? Out of the 8-12 hours of working time of HK's team, atleast 60% of the time would go into processing of payments, checking them, re-checking them and then come packing and shipping. Well, you would say this is because of the HUGE number of orders HK receives. Are we not optimistic of Indian LHSs making their way up in the hobby/industry and becoming as big as HK, or atleast maybe processing some 100+ orders per day? Don't we want cheap and indigenous products here, in India? Well, I've gone too far, but I feel it makes sense. :) A good payment procedure always simplifies, esp when the number of orders is huge.

Makes sense but if we think then all the points mentioned in the poll are important :)

For this we need stock first before any payment gateway ;D
Lots of my orders which are originally for LHS go to HK because of this. I don't care about ordering motor for my new plane from LHS if I have to order the props for it from HK 8-)

Umm, yes, even I agree to this.

Ofcourse, the amount of stock IS an important aspect. But so is the presence of a payment gateway. yes, I agree it's not as important as stock, But all I want to say is, that too is a yardstick to measure any LHS.

My two cents, I think another thing sellers can easily inculcate to their websites;

a "NEW PRODUCTS" section!!!

Since there are so many websites out there, its much easier if they have a quick way to see what they have thats new so you can quickly go thru their offer from time to time. I know "rchobbyaddict" store has this, and its so damn convenient! Alas alot of others dont, I wish people would add this.

Im certain this would up sales! I know for a fact it did help rchobbyaddict  ;) ;D

What do you guys think?
