I am looking to get the Tarot 810 frame and associated motors, carbon fiber props, ESC, batteries etc. HobbyKing seems reputed, Aliexpress has lots of providers but quite some reviews talk of fake products and Ebay.com also has some nice products and again is a reputed brand. BangGood seems a new player and charges INR which is a good thing. However, they again have some reviews of fake products and slow shipping. I would like the community to share their own experiences with any of the above providers.

There are 2 types of e-commerce businesses:
1. The website facilitates any seller to list their products. EBay and Aliexpress come under this. As a buyer, what we shall be aware of is that, when we purchase on ebay or Aliexpress, we are not buying from ebay or Aliexpress directly. Instead, we are buying from some third party seller who had listed his products. Each seller will have feedback ratings from their past customers, which helps us identify the customer satisfaction level towards the seller. In case of any dispute in the transaction between a seller and a buyer, eBay or Aliexpress will interfere and will arrive at a resolution.

2. There is only one seller and that is the website's parent company itself. Banggood and Hobbyking come under this category. They stock products with their own money, list them on their website and sell directly. There are no middle men here. Usually these sellers know their market and customers' pulse very well.

I haven't purchased anything from Hobbyking yet. I purchase electronics (for my day job) from ebay. I always purchase from highly rated sellers and have no complaints at all. I have had  unpleasant experiences with Aliexpress thrice when I raised disputes. I prefer Banggood more to Aliexpress.
Disclaimer: I am a Banggood fanboy:)

Do not buy from HK right now. They haven't shipped any of my orders made in the last 5 weeks as they are shifting their warehouse.

I've had the best experience with BG. Some items have a shipping time of 5 to 10 days for a small shipping fee.

What is your experience with customs and what are the charges. Like ebay.in Global buy shows you final price with estimated customs etc.

What is the rate at which customs is charged ?

Swapnil

I always get my stuff from BG and AE as individual items. That way the packages are small and of low price. I've never had to pay customs charges for orders from those sites.

Also, if you need LiPo batteries, try Singapore Post or Turkey Post on AE. I get my LiPos within 20-25 days!

After multiple e-mails and 3 chats, today HobbyKing finally shipped my order that was placed on the 15th of last month!

Is ordering futaba receiver is risky ?
i think it is tiny one

Receivers are much less risky. If you can convince the seller to label the package as computer accessory or something, there shouldn't be any problems.

Banggood > Aliexpress > Ebay (for quad parts)

Banggood - you have only 1 seller to deal with. On Aliexpress and Ebay if you are buying multiple items it can get hectic trying to keep tabs on shipments and communicating with various sellers. One big downside on Ebay is that the shipping method is not always explicitly mentioned. Sometimes sellers end up sending stuff without a tracking number.

For many other things, Aliexpress rocks.

Don't bother with Aramex, normal tracked (Air parcel register in their terminology) would do. I've bought a couple of Naze32 s
