Hi ALL,
HOW ABOUT TRYING AN ENGINE FROM VIVEK, THAT YOUR GRANDSON WILL BE ABLE TO USE... Thats the quality these guys built their engines. I have one of their 30 year old diesel engine that is still going strong in my friends control line aeroplane....
I gave up control line and moved to RC and gave this engine to my friend 10 years ago.

NEVER NEEDED A PISTON OR PISTON LINER REPLACEMENT... WHAT DO YOU CALL THAT... Truly these guys from SHARMA MODEL AERO ENGINES & PROPELLORS IN JODHPUR are either plain dumb or stupid to produce such solid and maintainence free sturdy items when everyone is on disposables in the fast lane.....

Vivek ; +91941 412 7519 in Jodhpur for control line and rc engines and kits. Address; Sharma Model Aero Engines & Propellers,  Jainaraian building, Ratanada Road, JODHPUR-342001 (Raj)  Phone: 0091-291- 2513519   www.sharmamodelaero.com

Have a nice day or as they they say in RC
SAFE LANDINGS.............

Sounds fantastic  {:)}

Methanol being banned in many states, it would be great to try a diesel engine.

Anyone here who has hands on experience with one, on a regular RC airplane (ie, not control-line) ?

Sharma engines, props are well known all over the world in RC community. They are quite rugged and has earned their name among the RC veterans. The glow engines have shadowed the diesel engines because of their good throttle charateristics. Nevertheless, most RC vetrans still fancy their diesel engines and their skills at it!

Hi ismael,
Where and how are u.
i got a old 40 IRVINE english made RC diesel from Rishi Kumar at Kolkata.
I am waiting to try it out. Need to sort out fuel tank issues because diesel fuel softens silicone tubes.
Will let you know when i try it out.

Hi Dr,

I am doing fine. Thanks. I am in the UK now. Hope the gang is having a great time at sholavaram.

Ya, I have seen the 40 IRVINE that you have and thats the first throttled diesel engine I have seen. There are not many throttled diesels around. Would be great if you start it up and post a video.

for fuel tube you can use the saline tubes that are available at local medical store........
Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines.

I have a few of their diesels....  The 3.2 CC came to me first in the year 1980.  The rest other (four more) came to me between 1980 - 1983.  Well I still use them........ They still start like they used to be long long time ago... (guess some 34 years back).  Did a change of Piston in one of the engines once... otherwise.... good old Either + Castor and Kerosine have kept the fire in them alive.

I have used their 3.2 cc for RC and its works fine... the only difference is diesel does packs much more torque then the Glow engines... In face I have grown up flying their models and engines...... I can choose nothing better.

Cheers to the Sharma Engines
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

Spoke to Vivek a few weeks ago and he informs me all their RC and control line kits are now being cut on CNC so the parts all slot in like Jigsaw Puzzle...... Great going Vivek..

shobhit17

Well.... I will put it as.... the kits are all Laser cut.

Shobhit..
Yes rightly corrected. Laser cut.. CNC (computer numerical control) is metal and machinery milling ..wonder what I was thinking?

Guys planning to buy some 9x6 9x4 Sharma propellers and put them on 25size glow engine will they be fine ?

Sahil
Today might be a great and wonderful day. It depends on you.

sahilkit

Well I guess 8x6 or 9x4 would be ok for the 25 Glow engines...... have used them on control line speed models and on the Sharma Apple Box (RC Glider).  Works very well.....
