Title: Taxes on products in LHS?
Post by: Jatayu on October 31, 2012, 07:35:10 AM
Dear All,

Happened to purchase a futaba 7 Ch RX from spherehobbies like 15 days back and they charged me 15% tax instead of 14.5% and when the bill was generated it did not have a tin number.

After looking at the invoice it looks like a sheet  a sheet of paper form grocery shop or a vegetable mart!

sent mails regarding this to sphere but no reply,  pretty sure that online store checks their only email id quoted to contact them regularly?

Did i really pay tax to govt?? any advice on this ?

No need of it of it to pay...them else if they have just given you the normal letter pad bill.if they have given original on which the VAt Registration no. is given on that paer then they have already added in your bill..if Not then Dont woryy its just and normal bill.So take it easy

@Jatayu , unfortunately , in the country where the Businessmen put a poster of "Customer is God", **Most** of them actually mean "Customer is Dog" . agreed that Sphere hobbies gave your a 'Kachcha Bill" , but the bill printed on proper performa, with TIN/TAN number are also spurious. Do you think that the ST/IT tax man verifies each and every bill and if finds any cheating the shopkeeper goes to Jail ?? Haahhhh ... These people usually tweak the accounting software and only fraction of sale (mostly Credit card , Check) goes into records, rest most of Cash transaction's Tax component goes to thier pocket. Thats why they off so called 'Cash Discount' as they not only cheat away the VAT/ST but also many of their own under valued items.
Things get more Murky with import items which dont have any MRP/MSRP printed on them and Govt is not mostly controlling those items. I have all the reason to believe that most of these Radios are imported through the back channel for obvious reasons. The seller might not be paying the full import duty, but sure the Kickback to the Customs folks.

So, life is no easy in the country where there is a "Loot Ki Chooth"  - If you are not part of the Looters, you are definitely one of the victims.

In my case too Sphere Hobbies asked me to pay extra for what was mentioned in their website.Isnt the Price mentioned in the LHS websites inclusive of all taxes .Never had to pay extra except the courier charges incase of Rcbazaar and Rcdhamaka
