Ouch!

I seemed to have goofed up. You are right, I got the two mixed up.

However, I feel that somewhere in the past I have dealt with 'www.thehobbyshop.in' favourably.

Heavens be praised, but I can't recall the exact circumstances and I'm NOT the Devils Advocate.

I've made multiple purchases with Indian Hobby Shop (ebay.in based) with positive experience each time. :)
www.thehobbyshop.in and ebay based Indian Hobby Shop both seem to be different
So get don't confused between the two..

The down slide started with reply# 96 and thereafter went into a downward spiral after reply#149. What a pity.

There's nothing anyone here can do. Just be careful so you don't get scammed next time.

Hey,

Why do you guys charge us soo much for a product in India??

Below I have given some details:

The Turnigy 9x is just for $59.99(Actual Cost) + $24.59(Shipping) = $84.58 (₹ 5192.79) on HobbyKing.

The Only place where I found the 9x was on thehobbyshop.in and there it is about ₹ 10,670 (₹ 5477.21 more than HobbyKing). Why is your website trying to steal our money. When people find that this hobby is interesting and they wanna get into it they only reason stopping them is the price, transmitter is such a important thing in this hobby and everyone has to get one Turnigy 9x is such a nice all in one pack for starters!

Does the India Customs and thehobbyshop.in's profit add upto ₹ 5477.21 which is more than the actual price! We have to find a solution for this, It is making this hobby really expensive for new comers. Who just wanna try the hobby out but due to the price it is not possible.

Thanks for your time,
Junaid Shaikh

@TechnoCrackOC , Well sir if you check out quadkopters.com the Flysky FST6 is priced at Rs 5050 including shipping, so as Rcmumbais is charging around 5500-6000. Its all about how they get the materials, some has to pay high purchase cost, whereas some has to pay more for getting it shipped. Also the custom duty is a headache. Thats why we find some materials are at low cost at one LHS the same is costly at the other, hence Vice-Verse. But atleast they are locally available. Now you order the Radio set from HK, you ll be paying Rs. 5192, once it arrives in India, you have to pay customs for it, only if you are lucky. Coz in most of the cases Radios need ETA unless they ll not be allowed to be imported in India. Now either you ve to run down to the customs and do whatever they ask, or simply let go the Radio back to HK. ( Your money ll be refunded). Now someone tell me after going through so many hurdles why  a person should not charge a fair amount. As I said earlier its all about Landing Cost. If my landing cost is 9000 then I ll sell it for 10000 isnt it fair.

TechnoCrackOC

Hey,

I am not against the profit price that LHS add but if their is a seller importing something from a foreign country and the person is taking up this as his job he need to be professional and do things precisely.

India's import and export system is governed by the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act of 1992 and India's Export Import (EXIM) Policy. Imports and exports of all goods are free, except for the items regulated by the EXIM policy or any other law currently in force. Registration with regional licensing authority is a prerequisite for the import and export of goods. The customs will not allow for clearance of goods unless the importer has obtained an Import Export Code (IEC) from the regional authority.

As far as rcbazar is concenred they are never in stock!  :headscratch:

Hope you understand!

Thanks for your time,
Junaid

kamalsahai

u have raised so sensitive issue. every body is fixing their margin as per there wish (profit markup margin)

they are traders. they are not conerned about ur feelings.

but some sites are so prudent that they fix minimum margin, which is good

TechnoCrackOC

This is a ever going issue  :-\ I just pointed it out! But the example that I have mentioned above doubles the price! Surely nothing can be done unless we all hobbyist unite and think of something!

Thanks,
Junaid

Well Sir as I ve mentioned its all about the landing cost. Same things at different price at different cities. I am not a trader, but I ve the import practice closely, if you get your material its fine, if it gets struck them it ll hang for a very very long time. Ask Satya Sir recently his material got up at customs. These are the things. But we cannot over rule the fact that there are some opportunists as well. They keep waiting till the stock of low price LHS gets over, now the customer has no choice but to go with the higher price. This is not good. I ll not mention the name but there is a LHS who is selling Naza GPS (GPS only) for 15000. Where as Naza m Lite with GPS the whole package is been sold at 10500.

miginstruments

Plus there are LHS who ll take the money and not ship the materials at all. What do you call it. ths.in.

IndianHobbyShop

Junaid, Just wanted to clear a point about the following:

"Imports and exports of all goods are free."

All this means is importing/Exporting goods is "Allowed" in/out of India (Except a few products like Tx/Rx where you need a seperate NOC and Import License from WPC)
The Custom duty which is about 30% (of Product Cost + Shipping Cost) still needs to paid.

As a general rule of thumb, the heavier and more space taking a product is, the more its shipping cost will be. Specially when you get these via Express shipping.
