Thanks sandy and anwar bhai, for taking the pain, i am not a heli guy but off-late due obvious advantages of flying heli, started to enjoy it, honed my hover skills on nine eagles heli , learnt to hover and land on a rubic cube, then mini Titan 325, (anwar bhai has put the pics in my behalf) and raptor 90 and Scaddy,

Ps
Thanks again, both of you

The accommodation looks beautiful now! Must've been a lot of hard work on the part of Varsha Ma'm. :hatsoff:

Gusty sir not fair flying Parrot all alone  >:( we also wanted to see the maiden.  ;).

rcpilotacro

She flies like hands off,, maiden was voice controlled,  :giggle: I put her on hover and had my dinner, she didn't move an inch. After a while, she declared low batt emergency and did a auto landing.

Satya Vachan, Any RCI members want to come here and fly most welcome, can arrange a 3000' feet R/W to yourself. with guards and watch dogs looking after your models and guys to handle them and bring them on the field, wipe it clean for you to start up and go. No jokes.

@Augustine:
I wanted to ask this for a long time from people like you... not particularly you, but people for whom work is play and play is work.

Have you ever got inspired by your real life experiences and tried to incorporate enhancements to your RC stuff?

Like modifying the landing gear to allow automatic or assisted touch down? By using some kind of radio proximity sensors at the end of the runway or with cheap optical sensors (more suitable for a heli landing or hovering).

Some kind of AWACS (lol) to let your controller know of any obstacles in the flight path (trees, buildings or may be another flying object!)? Can be done using some cheap lasers.

Incorporating ballistic parachute to bail out?... like when your plane doesn't have much fuel and it's already crossed the PNR. Or to save a sensitive equipment (camera) if the plane is crashing down?

People lose their planes quite often. Along with writing down mobile numbers, they can attach a small pinger which can sound a beep to broadcast its location. Or use a small smoke bomb/flare for more dramatics. :)

And many things like that... some were over the top, so I didn't mention them.

Or you just like to fly the readymade stuff with a few tweaks here and there?

basically , i eat and breathe flying and allied stuff. Not much of a electronics man though, not because i don't have it in me, probably because of time available. lastly i sleep 3 - 3.5 hrs a day. Lot of time at hand i guess

Pretty impressive work! You are a researcher.

Yes, your passion for flying will definitely land you in the record books. Goodluck!

Visiting air fields in the US?: no, I just stay away from them. Those guys are paranoid. The closest I had ever been to real planes was ofcourse, at the commercial airports and the Smithsonian museum. My friend had a bad experience with FBI just because of his love for the planes. And he was not even an RC flyer... lol

About the AR drone:
It beams video to iphone using bluetooth or wi-fi? Neither can achieve a range of 2.5km. Or does it use some additional wireless hardware?
