Added Adrenaline 120 to my hangar, Putting ASP 120-4S on it, with Futaba 3003, Hopefully maiden tomorrow. It nearly all composite, exceptionally detailed, pull-pull on rudder, aeroplane. Going to enjoy my freestyle, i want to see its Waterfall, Harrier and Blender (Blender should look good owing to its long fuse)

Gusty,
In my opinion 120 4T for the 120 would be just enough power. When I spoke to people at YT international in UK who are importers (and most importantly the designers and QC) for ESM in UK, they said that if I was looking for 3D on my 90, I should go with 120 FS.
By that logic, 120 FS on Adrenaline 120 would be on the lower margin of power requirment.

Got that, in fact i was thinking of a gas engine, then the engine bay is too small for it. i have a OS 120 i think somewhere inhibited and kept, lemme take it out, was reading up too, 120 FS will surely be underpowered. Thanks Kapitaan :thanks: you inspired me to go for Adrenaline, it goes with my signature statement too ;)

Way to go ! . Futaba 3003 might not give you the performance as deserved by this airplane. Use better servos !
Show us some pictures, if you are able to mount a gas engine on this one .

Sir,
Good afternoon,  how many servos you have for each control.
Go for at least 6 kg torque for each surface.

rcpilotacro

vivek, My Hitec have come or not ? do you have some 635 HB's, also that 26 CC, i'll send a guy by Dorneir

Futaba 3003 are nice servos, but are entry level, and more suitable for 46 size plane. They lack ball bearings, and the torque/speed would limit the capability of the great airplane you have in your hands.

For the rudder, I would use a 8-10 kg metal gear servo, and for the ailerons and elevator minimum of 5-6 kg, with a speed >= .15

My personal choice would be a Hitec. I have found them to have done their job pretty well, and never had one fail on me.

vivek.sharma

Sir,
Hitec radios, will take a couple of months as after ordering it takes 4 months for company to dispatch.

As Gaurav wrote I canoffer you servoslike:
1.  Servo HS 485HB- -6 Kg. Peak Torque & Karbonite Gears

2. HS-5485 HB- 6.4Kg. Peak Torque & Karbonite Gears (BUT THIS IS DIGITAL)

3. HS-645 MG -9.6 Kg Peak Torque & Metal Gears (in this class it is my favourate)

gauravag

HS-5485 HB servos are entry level digitals. I hav e 12 of these and they work OK. I would restrict the use of these to 60-90 size planes. For a 120 they will work better than 3003, but if possible, go one step further and take better ones.
645MG is good. though not digital. If budget allows get a digital, else the 645MG would do the trick.

saurabhhsrivastavaa

HS-645 will be the ideal choice.

However, HS-635HB will be good value for money with performance. I plan to have 6 of these in my Seagull Extra 260, 120 Size.

Hi Augustine,

Going slow on my FPV. Recently moved to a new place so a lot of unpacking to be done. And if I start with my planes midst of setting up the house, I've had it from her.  :giggle: you know who...  :giggle:
Cheers !!!

Gusty, does the elevator have a single or dual servo setup? If single, I would whole heartedly recommend HS 645 or if you are in mood to splurge go with HS 5645. If dual servo you could go with lower tourque ratings. On Rudder just go with 645 and something faster for the ailerons or even 645 would do. However do be warned about using heavier servos in the tail, every single gram in there would add to your problems of nose weight, just look at that tail moment arm.
But I am still concerned on the powerplant, as an OS 120 would be no improvement over the ASP they are more or less in the same class.
Yes petrol would be ideal but then not only is the cowl narrow but even the fuse is tight after you have put in the tank, leaving hardly any space for the electronics associated with petrol engines.
All the best would wait for your flight report

Another pet peeve of mine with the Adrenaline 90 is that the elevator servo is placed on port side of the fuse and if you invert mount your engine the exhaust ends up on the port side as well. Result?? Everytime the servo gets enough lubrication to last its lifetime.
Looks like with the 120 the servo is on starboard side. Should solve the servo's oil bath issue (unless it is meant to be one on each side)

Another word of advice Gusty. How is the canopy locked in place?
If it is like the 90, a dowel in front and a spring loaded catch in the rear. Be careful on this, as the wodden block holding the catch is meant to be epoxied on to the plastic canopy. Mine seperated in the air (despite all necessary precautions during glueing) never to be found again. Now after I lock down the hatch I also add tape on front and rear for belt and braces safety.

Two Servos , one on each side of the elev. i am thinking of of going with 7955TG for pull pull Rudder (To give room for gyro) rest i am thinking of  Turnigy MG958 Composite Digital Metal Gear Servo, used it on CAP 232 skeptically, knock on wood, till date , it has held on pretty well, problem is CG, it is 65 gram servo and two on the elev, with such a long fuse, I will be in for a big surprise, for a short chord wing CG is a very big issue

PS
Maiden postponed till this servo issue is sorted out 3003 wont do, so they have been removed (If not for this discussion would have flown it with 3003, would have held on , then what if?)

Gusty,
:) Straight to 7955TG form 3003 :) That servo would be overkill for a 120 size plane, but will be a good investment, as this servo can be easily used for 50CC-100CC class.

I just got back to re read the hangar details..

One thing It is most certainly not a hanger.... seems more like an inventory of a decent size LHS  :D

In one word WOW

All this stuff will be available next door for me, to see, feel and explore, in another month or so. This is going to be an experience of a lifetime.

Once again, Gusty, welcome to the North East!
