Hi
I am Daniel And live in Kodaikanal. I am into composite gliders and have built the Allegro lite (Mark Drella) as well as a modified version of the Apogee. Is there anyone who is into building a DLG glider. I build from scratch.

Thanks Vishal
But I am looking for some one building with carbon fiber. The glass cloth used is 340 Gsm. There is cloth which is 48 Gsm which is available.
1.5 Mtr gliders are a whole new bal game. The DLG pods and booms come under immense loads at launch. HLGs are simpler to build. I noticed the AG 03 airfoil used in the glider. It is a good foil. As rightly said a AR of 12 for a glider this big is a waste as the drag coefficient decreases but the lift also suffers which affects the gliders sink rate.
A good Idea would be to lighten the wing using spars and ribs instead of a whole balsa wing. This would enable the glider to thermal closer to the ground.
Hope Iyer sir chimes in as everything you just wrote went over my head ??? I'm sorry I don't have any experience with DLGs.
Hi there
I read your other post and living in Kodaikanal which is in the hills slope soaring is possible, but there are a lot of cross winds due to trees. flying off a cliff into sea breeze is definitely better. Hope you discover some place in Mangalore to soar.
Keep flying
I am Piyush from Kanpur, I also enjoy building and flying sailplanes......
