Hello Everyone,
My name is Deepak and RC enthusiast. I am into this hobby for an year. And am very keen in developing products. Everytime when i  purchase something for this hobby, most of them from abroad and you know the PRICE !! so i was always wondering what if we develop products on our own and provide ppl with low price not compromising the Quality !.  I pursued my bachelor's degree in Engineering, and working as an embedded engineer, so i Design/develop  hardware/software for all kind of Industrial, robotics and Consumer Electronics etc,. I would be glad if someone could join me in Bringing up New ideas. And am not here to make money. But to Prove that we people can provide Better technology than anyone. So basically am an OEM. Your ideas would be of great help.

Thank you
Best Regards.

Deepak

Hi Deepak,
I totally agree with you. Its waste of money ordering various RC gears from international stores. We can develop many products on our own at low price(depends). Its great to have people thinking in this direction too.

Well for the raw materials we still have to import like carbon fiber. We again don't have T6061 or T7071 aluminum,if at all they are available its mostly imported.

With some CNC milling machines, lathe machines and vacuum press we can do all the chinese can do.

Hi, well am planning for something like electronic stuffs like flight controller like apm 2.5, sensor's, FPV, Telemetry, as am good at electronics than mechanical. Well multirotor's frame all that can be built locally as u mentioned :)

miginstruments

ya even I was thinking in the same direction, ll met u da.

Well I just entered this hobby, and currently building my first quad, I am making my own Flight controller board based on Atmega368+MPU6050+FTDI232RL chip, with multiwii firmware.
And frame is also DIY ,
I also thought in the same direction, on a large scale, the price of this components are very low, and we can manufacture and distribute FC boards for a price as low as 500 to 1000Rs

ESC, FPV Transmitter& Reciever, OSD, etc are the other things that can be made.

I second that. ESC FPV transmitters are sure shot. costs 1/10th of what the market sells. no need for any sophisticated equipment except a SMD station. TX and RX are quite difficult as the boxing/WPC type approval stuffs are costly.
you can try this
ESC
FPV TX & RX. they are hot in market and sells like hot cake.

The problem with making Radio control transmitter and receiver is only WPC approval, molding the plastic enclosures are note that big deal if we have lots of production,

also there are simple things like flashing tools , and firm ware update tools , which are only a USB to com port interface or some thing like that. A Common modeler who have no much knowledge in electronics , buys those things for 10 times the actual production cost .   :'(

It's not bought because the buyer have no knowledge but its bought because buyer have no choice.

But yeah, I guess ESC will be the easiest to make. However, it's only a sustainable business until its manufactured in bulk. In small quantities, you cannot beat the price of imported stuff. Making them is not a problem, selling them is.

Good thought .As Modi Say's make In India .Do some thing for Hindustani.

You Can Say it ,But Yungster should do it.

Chennai based unit did try making nitro engines. but could not sell in india as we Indians prefer imported items. asp engines are cheapest available now.

radios have become a lot cheap and easily available. it would be expensive manufacturing here.

If engine cost same to imported engine who will purchased it ? So they should keep their engine cost low as asp engine,s.

sbajare

to keep cost low, you need to make in quantity. imagine where you will sell 1000 engines.
