you know what rathi, our forum has a guy called KALYANPRODHAN, (Your MBMH, friend as well) he can beat anyone hollow on (a) electronics (b) making RC stuff out of nothing.. can rally cause Mayhem, if you know what i mean.

Very helpful and humble as well

and sure in my case, i will not make any aeromodel, from an electric motor..because i know that, as i am an expert RC pilot, and as real,its not feasible to make a airplane model from an electric motor...so to me , i always make aero models from fuel engines

I am pretty sure we are all confused by the hight-lighted part above :headscatch:  I am sure you know about how widely electric motors are used these days for aeromodels... in fact we have two whole sections for them :

I am sure it is a "lost in translation" issue, would still like you know what you really meant ! :)

Anwar, its true..to me , making a flying aeromodel with electric motor is childish...and i was making models from age of 8, and was flying aeromodels from age of 14...and i got even more great chances, on it, as i entered in research in aeronautics, especially in Avionics...as a real pilot, i know that, aircraft is, an extreme machine, and it must be powered with a IC engine...because, even now, there is no option to beat an IC engined plane...an aircraft must be powerful, means RAW powerful,and we must be capable of taming it with our hands...when i see an electric plane or a electric heli, its too sad...and only gives us a little flight time...and 99% of electric crafts are too weightless...and i know, a weight less carft will be more suseptible to winds...i have many electric planes and helis, with me, and yes with IC engines from Hirobo...but i hate electric...only in aeromodeling...i feel it like playing with arubber band glider...but when i starts my SCOOBY, with 4.5 cc engine, from OS, its a different story...when  it passes my overhead with a WROOOOMMM roar, in a slope pull, its goose fleshing...we can go for electric planes at begining, and yes many companies are promoting electric flyers, because of, the ease of use, and restriction, in some countries and areas, to use IC engined planes...

rathikrishna

Anwar, as an aeromodel instructor, and a pilot, i have only one word in aeromodeling, that , TO ME, an electric plane or heli is a TOY...no thrills..frills...no wroom...i always feel the sheer power of my crafts when i fly it...a heavy weight plane with a super powered engine is no match for an electric...because we all always see it in our competitions...and i was making ample of crafts with my own idea, as INDEPENDANT ENGINE CONTROL, for starboard, and port engine, thus avoiding the use of rudder...and designing more...nowadays IC engines are more easier to operate, and less priced...and yes tidy..we got a new batch of engines from OS, and it all are nice..easy to start...and yes..immensly powerfull...and yes , i am here only for SHIP, AND BOAT modelling, because, i cant use any of my aeromodels at home or in our maidaan...and its far messy, and unrealistic in nature...so i started making water based crafts..its true in nature, al in scale, and simple to operate...with a 6 volt battery, and reworked toy motor, its all enough for me...working nicely...and all of us consider the brushless as a miracle...its not..because of the fun making on me, by last night, i have compleated my brushless from a scraped CPU fan..and will post it by tomorrow..a brushless is nothing...but all of us spending a lots of money on it...for Chinese, cheap brushless with lipo batteries from the cottage industries of China..

VC

Pardon me, if you feel electric engined models are "childish" that is your opinion and you are allowed to state it here. In a similar way, many may feel that making boats out of thermocole which are not made to 'exact scale' is also "childish". It is a matter of perception.

Well said VC sir. {:)}

In R/C cars,electrics beat nitros regularly.

and yes a cheap brushless will be with less quality magnets, as it losses its property while heated up..so when compared to a brushed motor from companies like Mabuchi, or Johnson,a cheap brushless is far inferior..and yes a powerful IC engined air plane is not meant for a soft heart, but it needs a nerve of steel...so have some nice yummy crafts...with IC engines...single cylinder..twin cylinder..sleeve valve...and yes WRRROOOOMMMM......and BOOOOMMMMM......hats off....

rathikrishna

sir..its all to ME...only..and yes i am making all models from scratch, and boats from thermocol, because, its easy to work and all it is in exact scale...and lasts a life time...

rathikrishna

and yes..elactrics may beat..but you must consider the cc and gear ratio when compared...a twin cylinder IC engine is a matchless...as i know..and still working on it...

iamahuman

The cheap brushless motors like the ones from EZrun are right up there with the ones from big brands.As far as they have a sintered neodymium magnet on the rotor,they're good to go.

For example,get a castle creations Mamba monster 2200Kv motor,power it up with a 6s lipo and see if it beats a twin cylinder engine. >:D

NO...i am researching in this subject, because we need it in our works at Avionics...i will give you some motors as brushless, if you are willing, and it will costs more than 75000/- Rs..and you can compare it with dynamometer, while with Ammeter,in a same given voltage...then you will see, at load, as motor heats up...the cheap one will give up...

VC

I don't have a clue as to who you are calling 'soft hearted' or lacking 'nerves of steel', but right now, there is a combat pilot and instructor reading your posts. He is an avid electric modeller. I don't think he lacks nerves of steel! :giggle:

You must be an awesome person - day by day, we are learning more and more about your ground breaking feats. You are associated with the Air Force, doing research in weapon systems, you are a pilot, you are an aeromodelling instructor, you have won gold medals for your models, you have more than 700 models in your collection and now you also have Hirobos. Awesome, as I said! I thought people like you existed only in very fertile imaginative minds. :bow:

and leave my matter here...but you can look up at my brother, just once, and he is far beyond me...so, you can see many of his interviews in many channels include NGC, Discovery, and yes all our channels with his works...so happy...i am his siter..and far below him...so sorry with you...

Rathi,

I want to be as forth coming as possible and like i told anwar bhai ready to eat humble pie any time. Firstly, wind effect on an aircraft has nothing to do with weight.
DCA=SIN to the -1 [(V/TAS)SIN (W-TC)]

DCA=Drift Correction Error
V=Wind Velocity
TAS=True Airspeed
W=Wind Direction
TC=True Course

where is weight this, it is only the forward speed, sounds impossible but true, a huge passenger jet which lands at low speed has tremendous problem of landing, controlling, turbulence effect and what not, a fighter jet especially mig series , we don't cater for wind at all. I have flown thousands of hours and i am telling you.

Your last two posts are addressed to whom? Pl clarify.

Could you also please provide the links for the 'Interviews of Mr. Roopesh' by Nat Geo (NGC??) and Discovery? I have not been able to find them.

Thanks.

rathikrishna

yes you are true..but here, we have a heavy winds...its almost impossible to fly...crashes...but when i turn to my craft with IC engine with a heavy weight, its not a matter...we cant take the actual criteria here, because all we know, we are reducing the scale to our crafts but not to air molecules...and i know, there is no problem with a head wind, or cross wind, while we fly a real craft at high speeds...

Roopesh,

let me tell you something, please, please think about it. I reported to duty way back in eighties to my boss. fresh into combat flying etc, my CO tossed me a coin and asked me to read what is written there, i read and it said "Satyameva jayate", truth alone triumphs, i carried it with me since then, you know Who is ones biggest enemy ? oneself. Pride, ahamkara. Be truthful and Humble. come clean . to err is human. i can talk for myself. you would have risen in my eyes.

Aug..sticking on to IC engined craft is not an ahamkara...its my option...my experience...and all it are true...nice...but still i use electric motors on my water based crafts...its nice...
