Rubbish and insensitivity from what is obviously an extremely immature person.

Do you even know what percentage of Indian RC Modelers are on RCI?

parichya.gautam

wow ... 'kids' these days ... exactly as Rcjabalpur said, how did you come up with the 70/30 theory ? :D

There are different types of people in this world ..  I think it dose not make any sense to discuss about how many people are into this hobby.. & to discuss about north, south, east & west... It would be good if people here must think that why still there are no FAI events n competitions in India..

RCNeil21

Instead of asking why they are less interested why dont you get them interested in the hobby? ;)

@sharlock no events are being held right now because of the DGCA's Blanket ban on Rc Flying.... :/
.

shobhit17

Well... the infrence thus is... DGCA also falls in the same bracket....
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

anujsharma

Because South Indian people are far more educated and interested in all these stuff where else we north Indians are still busy in going at clubs and lounges lol

Sir,
Please consider deleting your above post.

Please can we stop this north indian south indian stuff?
Antriksh, being by definition from outer space, may not be aware.
He considers me north indian as my address is Indore (north or central?)
So he probably does not know that my name itself shows that i'm a Madrasi.

It is apparent that some members do not know that besides north indians and south indians, there are even some indians in a place called north east.

@antriksh,
You may have meant no offense, but your original post showed insensitivity.
So please, i request you once again, can you ask admin to delete this thread?

K K Iyer

@admin,
This kind of thread promotes parochialism, as well as ignorance.

It is apparent that aniket had no idea about what sharlock was saying
(Aniket210696, before you jump on me, please stop for a moment and think. What sharlock is talking about is why there have not been any FAI event in India till now.)

K K Iyer

I have an addendum to the 70/30 theory.

My estimate is that 70% of the so called "north indians" do not know which states lie south of the Vindhyas. Or what languages are spoken there.

And that 70% of so called "indians" do not know the seven sisters, or the languages spoken there.

Or about The Islands
Or about J&K and Laddakh

So, Antriksh,
I request you once again.
Pl delete this thread.

Antriksh

To promote this hobby in my region i've initiated a flying club and more than 30 people have been benefited.

aniket210696

Whoops @iyer sir, @sharlock sorry that was my mistake. Glanced at it quickly  and misinterpreted what sharlock meant to say...

I originally belong to North (Patna) and  can give a blunt and honest answer, without taking this wrong. Though there are flyers in Patna, Allahabad, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Kanpur (apart from IITK junta), Lucknow etc. But yes, there are not a large 'Community' flying like ones in Bangalore (50-60 flyers on a fine day), Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Pune etc. There is a big reason:
1. There are not so many Engineering college in that "Hindi" land you are referring to as "North", compared to south. A large number of so called 'Flyers' you are referring to is today coming from Colleges (Project/competitions etc).

2. The dispensable income there is not as much among the masses in south (Corporate Job, SME). I dont mean people there are poor, but there is disparity among super rich and middle class.
3. Hobby Culture problem. Cricket, Movies, books TV is most popular hobbies there. Unlike the Neo-MNC people in south who are increasingly seeking and supporting Hobby (classes) for their kids, the Hindi land kids in traditional income has more pressure on study alone.

I don't mean to hurt anyone, but no matter how insensitive, or useless, every question has an answer.

Please read the news before commenting RC flying is not at all banned by DGCA, they have only banned flying multi-rotors

Antriksh

DGCA has poste no any Unmanned vehicle should be airborne until DGCA post rules and regulation.
