Anyone can nominate anyone they like.
But to be officially inducted into the Hall, 3/5/20/100 supporting msgs should be reqd.
Can you pl set a standard?

Mr Iyer, i dont know whoever you are, but please make a note "each individual may not be knowing everybody." Neither anyone of us is so famous(atleast in RC), to be known by all.
Each person has his own rolemodel. For me its someone different, for you it might be someone else.

If you want the method of voting as said here:

And although you enjoy freedom of speech in this country, you have no right to insult anybody here..
I personally understand the "standard" of person by his forum reputation..
I can take off and fly well. Its landing which sucks :banghead::banghead:

abhay

And, sorry, i overestimated myself to take part as an elector in your "hall of fame" thing.

I am just a budding aeromodeller.

Now, now Abhay; these are needlessly strong words for what is just an expression of appreciation

If you feel so deeply about this, maybe you should join politics!  ;D

This is just a friendly forum; many people have different role models, put in your 2 bits worth, and wait a couple of years for endorsements. Then review!

I have no idea why I was even mentioned in this thread. I am a software guy, who happened to fly a few RC helis actively for like couple of years. That DOES NOT, in any way, qualify me for anything (let alone any "hall of fame").

I admit that I have spent a lot of hours getting this forum in the current shape, but I would use that only as an excuse to suggest people like Sushil Anand from Mumbai to be added to this list. I have never met him... but I have been a silent witness to a lot of good that he has done to members on this forum, and I have always heard about his activities from members before this forum came alive.
Hangar : Please see my introduction.

You brought the fragments together, and you have no idea of the service you did to this (a) Hobby (b) Lives of People (c) Livelihood of/for the people (d) brought families together (d) Got some lifelong/lost friends together (e) all that without any donations/subscriptions/selling merchandise etc..

I can go on & on...then you will start blushing...:)

Next nominee
Steve WMD, of outerzone.co.uk
Pl see his site. And his Praise page.
Initially only oldies may appreciate, (many respondents are over 60)
but newcomers may recognise historical importance of his work.
Most amazing is that he is probably not even an aeromodeller.

Will anyone who has seen the site second the nomination?

VC

I think the last post is exemplary. It matters not how good a flyer or modeller you are - if you are willing to share in return for nothing and if you have the enthusiasm to teach 50 kids how to make a paper plane, you deserve a mention here. I second this gent.

I would also like to nominate the guys at www.parkjets.com. Many of us have benefited from their contributions and have successfully built their models.

Mr. Iyer,

I too recall Mr John de Cruz at Safdarjung Airfield, Ever a helping hand and he really had a way with engines. I am relocating to Delhi shortly and wondering if you could share his address or contact No. We used to hold him in Awe. At the same time I recall (1978-81) another gentleman by only his first name 'Pratap' Who used to fly these really big Glow (OS?) powered beauties. Mr Prataps' Piper Cherokee with John de Cruz on controls went down immediately after take off on one of our visits. I wonder if you recall him too?

K K Iyer

Must have been Prabhat Mishra. Will pm Mr Verma John's cell no. Regards

rcpilotacro

with respect to this rep, they had a huge show in memory of Mr Ashok Bhole at Pune, They had some banner towing, Control Line flying, helis and aeros, a befitting tribute to Mr Ashok bhole. Here are some pics

I read the epitaphs. Great man, absolutely dedicated to the development of the hobby

One of the names we could all agree on is Mr.Suresh Kumar who started IHC in CAL and brought aeromodeling into India.

Anwar with your permission I would like to add a page of "Hall of Fame" in our forthcoming souvenir after the Pinjore Event on the 18/19 Oct. 2013 and use the names mention on your forum.

We have brought out a Guide to safe aeromodeling, which would be provide free to participants.

You are most welcome to use this publicly posted information.

It would mean a lot if you can mention the forum in some of the literature, as it would help anyone who is not aware of it as a (hopefully) useful resource.

Thank you Anwar, will acknowledge source in our souvenir.

Nandan Chandavarkar

Definitely goes in here. He has been pioneer in bringing quality Jet age to India. 2004 i guess was the watershed year for India, when Jet age in aeromodelling circuit dawned, thanks to Nandan.

Some of his achievements include, speed record, putting a jet on a glider (I guess, first time in india, again) and his philanthropic outlook to life in general and hobby in particular.  Some of the thread to visit are here
Viper Jet
Test flying funjet look alike with a jet engine called BaioJet

Someone to propose and second, please

K K Iyer

Last post Oct 2013.
Now I propose
Dr Mark Drela
Inspiration for my Indore TLG1
Prof at MIT Dept of Aero & Astro
Aeromodeller extraordinaire
Will anyone second?

VC

Don't we know Nandan Chandravarkar, Esq., by a different handle on this forum? Good ol' Xantos, I presume.
