Henry Fonda famous Hollywood actor was an avid aeromodeller. in fact he had them shown and flown by him  in some of his movies like Fail Safe and Flying Blind . The model aeroplane The Capelis XC-12 was used in many movies, like the one mentioned above, Wings Over pacific, Adventures of Flying Cadets etc. Actors like Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart wrote   articles on aero models and had been motivation to many first gen aeromodellers (Who's sons and grandsons have since then are doing great service to this hobby)

Ajith (a south-indian actor) told in an interview that his favourite hobby is aeromodelling. He also showed his picture with some large fuel plane. Here's the pic:
