Hello everyone. I'm Dhruv and this is in progress prototype of a new quadcoptor frame. it can also be made for tricoptor.
I got inspiration/idea from fps russia youtube channel video which had a fake quad drone but i liked the body of it. So i made it in autocad, did some trial and errors and now made it from biofoam.

It's close to final product. Altough i havn't modified the arms yet.
My soldering iron broke   so i had to use the escs as the were, thats the reason esc are out.
They'll be inside and wires go through the arms. all electronics are of my old quad which also was a scratch build.

The camera mount is of gopro dimensions.
Inside there is place for esc, kk2.0, camera, And a back section for rx and antenna mountings.

The top is removable and so is front, The center plate for arms mounting is temporary and i will get new ones laser cut soon.
This is my first ever attempt on making its prototype. So if any mistakes kindly point out and suggest solutions.

convert the files using 'image optimizer'....freeware....

Having the arms too high above the main board maybe a problem though, will be tricky to stabilize as the smallest of movements due to air currents will get magnified at the board due to the low mounting point and the low CG ! Correct me if I am wrong.

i havnt tried the raised arms in practical. but i dont think that'll be a problem as fc is parallel to arms

the foam stand is temporary, i'll add proper landing skids in its place later.

Sure that the controller is parallel but think of it as a pendulum- the longer the perpendicular distance- the more of displacement and that is a bad thing as your board will be trying to counteract 'Magnified' distortions and giving erratically continuous inputs to stabilize.

hmm, lets see what happens on practical trials, cause i really like the raised arms design, kind of stuck in my mind

You can raise the control board to the same level as that of the motors by using a boom or by some other way.

wont look good i guess :/ lets see if its too bad to fly then i'll get down the arms. Thanks for that check for updates frequently :p

Dhruv the frame looks good. elevated arms and motors looks nice but i think they might give problem not sure thought. Can you share why are you trying to have an elevated arms/motors. Its recommended to keep them at the same level at FC. thats just my thought might be wrong.

just because that was the idea doesn't look that good with straight arms.
Or i can take down the raised arms. so motors stay to fc level but arms are raised from bottom of the frame. this was just the first try, will get more arms maybe today and try the raised arms. will try first on wooden arms, as they are easy to hold, hot glue n maybe nails.. good for first try. i'm concerned about the joints tough, but if made in cf rods in final then epoxy is pretty good i guess but if aluminium then its a problem

If there are any joints or bents there are chances of breakage due to vibration.

yeah that's what m worried about. :/ Any ideas what else can be done?

No bend in Arms even a slight cut in the arm can break it wait i will show you my first frame which had some very small cuts and results of that cut. hehehe

aw maan. that was the uniqueness of the idea damn it :/
