Hi all,
I had an oppurtunity to meet Ujjwana(Ujjwal) on 19 of this month, he invited me to his house & then he displayed all the electronics & the model what he has.
I was very much impressed by the KESL model what he had built & i decided to make one.
I had some 4mm depron left with me, so i decided to make a 32" model, with the help of Ujjwal i started the model on 20 of this month and worked for about two hours daily, i have almost completed the model, without Ujjwal's help i wouldn't have done all this, as this is "MY FIRST DEPRON MODEL". i troubled Ujjwal everyday by calling him and asking him for help & he was alway helpful. Thanks Ujjwal.............. :salute:
Power system:
EMAX CF 2812 (RCD)
1000 mah, 3 cell
8x6 or 8x4 prop
30 amps esc.
Thanks
Attached are few pics.
more pics......................
Pics of motor mount,
Motor mount is made from 2mm Aluminium plate.
Motor mounted................
Battery strap.............
Here are the pics of canopy made from plastic bottle..............
Hope u all like it............. ;D
Almost completed, i have hinged the elevon & glued the fins, i have used 3mm carbon rod to reinforce the depron & used small piece of bass wood between the model on which i have mounted the motor.
I will put sticker on it, just working on it, if anyone has any suggestion regarding the stickering part please post some pics, it would be a great help, as i am very bad at color combination.
planning to color the canopy black.
Thanks
{:)} {:)} {:)} looks gr8 !! do post a video of it flying..........
Hey Sharad! Pleasure was mine to visit such 'Balsa Mecca'. Your Guppy and Apple Box has brought my love for woods back (not Tiger Wo...)!!
Well you really baffled me with such a short turnabout!! I took around a month to complete my 18" KESL!
You have done a fabulous job with the 32" ones. Hope to fly the Cousins together some time!
Yes, we will fly the Cousins together soon.....
RC well done! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to build. After seeing the fantastic job done by you, I am now inspired. {:)} {:)} {:)}
Nice  Cant remember seeing a non-ARF "flying wing flying" on RC India so far ! There was the one from Deepak bhai (b4ggu), but that was in England ;)
Nice build with detailed pics..Great work..

<Edit for Anwar's comments below. Dont want to hijack the thread>
Anwar,
E-Stratos was probably the first RC Foamie 'Flywing' made way back in 1960's. See the first pic in the below link
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=434265
Primitive, but a Flywing indeed.
I have already maidened the 18" KESL, the report I would append today.
</Edit>
The first one (Estratos) is not the kind of "wing" I was referring to. The second one is a wing, but again it has not taken to the skies yet :)
Really very well build!!!!! would love to see it flying!!!

-Dorwin
Deuachaan!! tuji batli solid dista!
good thinking..
Thanks You PATRAO.................. :)
Actually i am working on the color scheme, if you can suggest me a color scheme then it would be great, i am not so good at color scheme.
Will try to maiden her this weekend.
Also planning to make small canopy for servo also as they are popping out from the model, i will do it now then post the pics.
Thanks Dorwin.
Sent you a Pm, will send you the pics in sometime, am cooking re baba!
Fabulous Build with detailed photographs and and specs. Amazing work by both of you RC and Ujjwaana.
Eagerly waiting for both of your flight video. It would be nice if both flown together and video taken.

Thanks Dorwin, you made my work little easy, thanks.
Beautiful, just as beautiful as Ujjwal's.Hope to see then flying together.'Mother ship' and 'offspring' :giggle: :giggle:
Good mod for the battery.
You welcome anytime man!!
Baba, Don't you think it would be more appropriate if you have mounted all the hardware and the electronics on the bottom of the wing?
I don't exactly know, but I think it would also supplement for a more stable flight!
-Dorwin
Reminds me of the B2 Spirit
I wpuld suggest the camo(sort of).Not much of a'nature guy'

Hey Dorwin, i have done as per the plan, i also thought of putting all the electronic on the bottom, but its not a good idea. As whenever the wing lands it might damage the servo & other parts...
Wow!! Its come out awesome.. Especially loved the canopy.. Only someone from Goa can come up with such creative use of battli!! (bottle) :giggle:
As long as all the soriacho battlios are plastic, RC (Royal Challange) will keep on using them on his planes..
Arrey baba te battlio soriache nu re.............................
Hey, why don't you fit the servos underneath? That way those servo covers will also act skids :)

Hey thats a good idea, but i have already cut holes for the servo, may be next time.
Thanks

Servos as Skids! Are you kidding ? people mount servos with rubber goumets .. It wont be kind to give the servos shock on landing; the gears may dislocate from the mount holes.
I was talking about the covers he's made to cover the servos.. Not the servos! :giggle:
Guys how about this color scheme............... :headscratch:
Finally got time for this.............................. ;D
Little more work left, have to put black tape(sticker) to give a good finish.
Hope it comes out well.
Wow!! Fantabulus!!! it looks like B52 Bomber now!! But with Cat-like Ears of 'PussyCat Dolls'
You would definitely want to distinguish the top from the bottom for better visibility, using the color scheme (some lines at the bottom?)
Very nice build

Thanks Anwar,
I will put line across the model at the bottom, i will do it tomorrow & keep u all updated abt the same.
Awesome paint job RC :salute: seriously looks like the B2, and yes! as anwar has said you better do something about your plane belly in terms of coloring so you can distinguish between the two sides, something like the landing strips! black and white!!
Overall! an amazing build, I think I should build one like this for me now :giggle:

Yes, i am planning for a black and white strips or balck and red.
Dorwin, please start making this model, its easy to build & also looks cool.
Hi,
This is how it looks after the canopy is painted, still some work left.
RC,
The fairings for servos are too big and will add a significant drag.
You can use something better to make the fairings, and the advice is free. Go buy a Kinderjoy (the one which has egg shaped package) take out the choclate and toy and give it to a kid at home and you have two halves of an egg shaped plastic mouldings with a nice lip. Roughen the lips, make a suitable cut and stick the halves on your wing and you have a sleek, low profile fairing.
I came up with this idea while searching for a suitable piece to use on the fuse of my fuel planes where the servos installed out of the fuse were getting a fair bit of burnt fuel residue
Thanks for the advice flyingboxcar, i will try that.
Very very nice work RC!!
did u paint the belly as yet ???

Even i liked the first one, so let do it.
Will do it tommorow, time for some official work.
Thanks Dorwin.
Very nice work!.. Go for light colours on the bottom. The grey/black combination will have visibility issues.
Thank you Izmile Sir.
Will this color scheme be good for visibility?
Yea. Any bright colour is fine. You already have dark color on the top.

Just started with this, but stooped after sometime. will complete it tomorrow.
Hi,
Finally i managed to do some stickering job, its really tough, i am very bad at it.
The image may look good, but i have not done a good job ( I MAY DO IT AGAIN AFTER THE MAIDEN)
:(

very good job mate!!
you should'nt worry about how the decals are as long as its visible from the skies, good job!
A masterpiece!!
When is the maiden going to be?? I may not have internet access for a week :'( :'(
Anyways going to build a full profile EDF SU-47 Berkut
Thanks Dorwin,

:)

@ Ashish!
I already have started with the materials selection for the SU-47, am making a small prototype to feel the curves ;)
will post pictures sooner!
Build thread will consist of converting a pusher to a full profile EDF
@ RC - how is the progress on your wing?? seriously!! this thing looks killer, like a stealth bomber!
Hey Dorwin,
The model is ready to fly, only need to do the pushrods. But will maiden this model next week, very busy....................... :(
The total weight of the airframe with the motor & canopy is 330 grams.
1) servo 2 x 9grams = 20 grams.
2) battary = 90 grams.
3) Esc = 25 grams.
4} receiver = 30 grams.
5} pushrod & horns = 20 grams.
6) prop = 30 grams.
7) Extra weight = 30 grams.
TOTAL =245 GRAMS.
So i guess the model weight will be less then 600 grams.
I am planning for the below mentioned power system.
Power system:
EMAX CF 2812 (RCD)
1000 mah, 3 cell ( I also have 2200 mah 3 cell, but the weight of the battery is 150 grams)
8x6 or 8x4 or 7x6 prop ( I will try with all these props )
30 amps esc.
:)
2812 is good motor!!!! will be perfect for this!!! 1st try with 1000 mAh battery, i think 2200 will be pretty heavy!!!
wish u all the best!!!!!

Hey thanks Rajath.
FINALLY,
The model was maidened today, i was not able to fly for more then a 30 seconds as this was my first delta depron model.
It took 17 crashes & yet it survived.
One of my friend flew it for more then a minute & it was his first flight as he was into boat modelling.
May be next week i will try to fly it after practicing on sim.
Photos will follow
aavoiis!! solid murre tu..
don't worry bout flying and crashing now..there are a lota guys to motivate you on building new ones...hehehe

Hey congrata RC.Were did you maiden it?
Electronic City
Hey, congrats on your maiden! Are you getting it when ur coming down? :)
It was nice to see big brother of my mini KESL finally take it to the sky. Hope you are doing enough of Sim practice for the next weekend flying. wish you were on Mode-2. Would hook up my Rx next week and see.
And yes, some body knows how to get comprehensive accident insurance for R/C flyers ? Sarad's KESL nearly missed me on its long haul flight. It was really scary with a 8" prop spinning at its peak RPM!!
Few pics of my KESL before the crashes.............
few pics after the crashes, this week i will repair the damages.
The nose is damaged & right leading edge is slightly damaged, both the fins are broken.
:(
great can u built for me 1?
