Friends and gurus :hatsoff:

I am looking for a small DIY transmitter and receiver circuit, the function of this to pull focus of my movie camera from a distance.

Preferably a wheel control in the transmitter which can be rotated forward and backward freely, fast and slow as required and the the receiver will rotate the motor geared with the focus ring of the camera same way .

I hope I will get some help from you all

with warm regards

Joy

hello there!
i have a few questions to ask... how will you see what the camera is seeing? also what lens is it?
are you using this in a studio or outdoors?
also, please change your subject to "[WANTED]DIY transmitter & receiver plans" or something along those lines.... :)

Hi

I think you want to know how the focus puller will see the image...look there will be a 7 inch display connected to the camera...but usually the different focus position is marked during the rehearsal, the marking corresponds with the movement of the object, the lense focus shifts according to the object as it moves on a pre-predetermined path, The focus puller  man rotates the remote wheel which in turn rotates the attachment with receiver which rotates the lens to give the exact focus. For this action the focus puller need to watch the object's movement and position as it is ,and not really through the camera

I hope I could make myself clear

You can look into the xBee tranceiver modules and use them interfaced to an Arduino board or compatible microcontroller board. They works on 2.4GHz bandwidth.
Similar to xBee is the Indian variant, Tarang 2.4GHz transceiver module. Significantly cheaper than xBee.

Where does one get this tarang 2.4 ghz trans receiver module ?

Tarang modules are made by Melange Systems, Bangalore. Check their website for more details. Beware, they advertise the modules with a fancy range like 10km and such, but they use bigger, more sensitive antennas to achieve that range. Be sure to enquire the proper working range with the antennas you plan to use it with.
