hi guys!
recently i bent the motor shaft of my skysurfer v3. in the porcess of tryng to straighten it, i broke it and was grounged. spoke to rcbazaar but they were out of stock.
so i set out to make my own!
things i used were:-
1. an old steel hangar
2. drill machine
3. iron file
4. vernier caliper (optional)
5. hack saw
6. pliers
step 1- measure and cutoff the required length with the vernier caliper from the hangar
step 2- check the diameter of the original shaft and that of the hangar rod. this is to calculate how much you need to file and reduce it.
step 3- fit the cut rod in the drill machine and turn it on (use it like a mini lathe machine)
step 4- use the file to uniformly reduce the diameter from the rod and keep checking it with the vernier caliper
step 5- next for making the notch- use the flat side of the file
step 6- for making the cir-clip groove- put the rod on the drill machine and use the hack saw fixed near the mouth of the drill and switch it on. be careful to use a firm hand. as the rod turns, the hack saw blade will start cutting in to the rod.
a little practice will yield the results and you will be up in the air!
