Title: Modified Kit design and build of a Carl Goldberg Tiger 2 Kit 40 size model.
Post by: gauravag on October 29, 2023, 01:14:34 PM
Guys,
Starting a thread here after ages. One of the best planes that I have built from a kit was a Carl Golderg Tiger 2 40 size airplane. This was way back in 2004. A nice low wing airplane with exceptional characteristics, and a plane one can learn most of the basic maneuvers on.

Fast farward to today, after almost 19 years, and I wanted to build one again !
Kit building has almost vanished in todays time, and also the companies that built and sold kits have shut down and none of the good kits are now available. Sadly Tiger 2 Kit is also not available.

However the plans are available, and I intend to build one of these kits, with a few modifications :
- Electric Conversion
- Dual Servos ( instead of one )
- Reinforced Landing gear
- Fuselage Build of Balsa ( instead of All ply construction ) .
- Various other minor changes to suit the available materials.

There shall be no change to the design or the lines of the plane , as the flying characteristics of the plane are top notch.

Further, once I have everything in order, I plan to offer this as a kit , to whosoever might be interested in building this masterpiece.

This might be a long drawn thread as this is very time intensive , but to hope to complete one set by end of this year !

Pictures to follow soon on the basic progress so far.

Hi Gaurav,
This is SL Mukherji from Kanpur.
I vividly remember your Carl Goldberg Tiger 2. This brings back memories of a small but beautiful flying competition that you organized about the same time. It was memorable as no such events happened thereafter. Eagerly looking forward to your scratch build and the kit that will follow.

In the mean time though I have been on this forum for several years now, it was mainly for buying stuff. I have very few posts. I have built several models since 1975, the first being an Arora Y-bar, free flight, followed by spitfire control line and scores of others, but I recently completed a scratch built 33% Piper which was my ultimate dream project and wish to share my building experience with interested members. My only problem is I am unable to upload pictures, can you or anyone on the forum guide me, please.

Regards
SL Mukherji

@slaerom

Hello sir,
Do you remember that we had met at the Butchery ground in Lucknow about 15 years ago?
Send me a few pics via email, and I'll see if I'm able to post them in the forum.
Sent you my email address by Whatsapp.

To avoid hijacking this thread, I'll start a new one for your Piper.

Dear Sir,
Agreed, a new thread must be started. It would not be fair to intrude in this thread. Lets hope we meet again some time in future. Thanks a ton for your effort.
