Hello Everyone.

I have been trying to get into this hobby. I have built 3 models so far, of which first two did not fly. The third one did and crashed very hard. Nat geo air crash investigation is going on.

Here are some details:

Configuration: Pusher
Airfoil : Kfm3
Wingspan : 54 in
Chord : 9 in
Length : 39 in
Motor : 1000kv no name orange color chinese motor
Prop : 1045
ESC : 40A
TX/RX : Flysky i6
Battery : 2200mAh Turnigy 30C
Control Surface : Ailerons, Elevator (No Rudder)
AUW : 770gms

Little bit of downthrust.

The plane was very hard to control, I mean it wont respond to the inputs. CG was at 25% chord length.

Suggestions are welcome.

Swapnil N.

Keep trying mitra... You will succeed one day. Nice place to fly RC planes.

i made this type of design few years back.

pointers

1 practice more on simulator.as i could see and feel that you put wrong input on radio  when plane nose was pointing you
2 build a new model which is already tested and flown

swapnilnimbalkar

Oh yes. That is correct I must search for the design that has been tested.

Actually i just gave throttle and elevator and nothing else. Trust me. It circled on its own.

How do i connect Flysky i6 to my PC? Hardware required?

Thanks.

Hope your model is repairable and not really 'RIP'.

1. That gaping hole in the front top has to be closed. Its acting like a huge air dam or airbrake

2. Hand launch has to be gentle and level. Will need only a small touch of up elevator for less than a second if your CG is more or less correct. Not like a third man throwing a ball from the boundary to the wicketkeeper!

3. It didn't 'circle'. It stalled and spun. Stall due to low airspeed caused by too high launch angle and too much up elevator.

Best of luck for next attempt.

Here is a short 32sec video of a smooth hand launch...

Where is this place in Thane? If close, I can help you with your flying.
Cheers !!!

It is near lake Upwan. Vartak Nagar , cadbury company.

Sir, You have made it crystal clear that how the plane should be launched.

I'll close that front hole in the next build. I thought half of the propeller is exposed to the air and lower half should also be. So I kept it open. Otherwise only upper half of the propeller will generate thrust which will cause pitch down tendancy and motor bearing might wear out.

Thank you.

Maybe thrust angle issue, or ailerons are not centered.

do what i am telling you . do not waste your time on this ,as i have build the same plane initially . you do not require sim or hardware as i can see you can take off , if you spend time on correcting this plane it will take a long time ,so build new one , i mean a tested plan .once you get success in that then go back on this plane , then you will find out something which cannot be learned in words .

also few of them above are my seniors so do what they are saying ignore this post

swapnilnimbalkar

Yes I'll build new one.
This time simple 3 CH, dihedral wing.
Thank you.

swapnilnimbalkar

As promised i built 3 CH simple plane
Specifications
Airfoil : Kfm2
WS : 40in
Chord : 10in
Electrics are as above,

Here is the result

Does anyone have an idea, how to join two halves of dihedral wing together ? I mean what technique do you use.

Rooster

hi Swapnil,
I stay in thane and fly every Saturday with a few friends. you can join us as well...Will pm my number to you.

However I am unable to figure out where is this place near Upawan

Good swapnil
Please recheck the CG. It seems to be tail heavy, and little under powered.

swapnilnimbalkar

Yes it is underpowered. Will upgrade to 1045 from 8045. CG seems to be OK currently at 30%

1. Increasing prop size will only work if the motor can take the extra load
2. Looks tail heavy in the video. Pl try a little nose weight.

Regards

swapnilnimbalkar

Yes I'll add some weight.

Hello everyone.

I am ready with new plane.

I wish to know does it glide well? Have not flown it yet.
