I am working on my engineering project called tribrid car. i that i am using an BLDC motor of follwing specificatoin
3300kV
Io@8V = 1.35A
Rm = 0.007 Ω
P In* = 700W
I = 75A
Max I** = 90A
Max V = 18volt
Shaft Dia = 5mm

nw i am looking ahead for an ESC. bt dont knw of what specificatoin ESC should i use. and frm where would i get that. i m frm maharashtra.

Well, you'll need an ESC that can handle 120A continuous. As far as my knowledge goes, nobody sells those in Maharashtra. What is your price range? I might be able to hook you up with a 150A ESC.

PS: What will be the overall weight of the car? What gearing will you use? What kind of batteries are you planning for?

Cm, from your explanation, the idea is not clear.. if we want to go for a tribrid, or hybrid vehicle, we must need two source of power.. here, you are using an ECM to power your vehicle.. whats the next source..? and is it nessesary to use such a heavily powered motor..? so, whats the real size of the vehicle..? you can get the high rated ESCs from local hobby stores.. and if it is not equipped with reverse, can add with HD swithces.. will you share the idea some more clearly..?

well using source as Diesel.electric and solar. my budget is around 3500.

it is necessary for the model. nt in actual vehical. coz in actual vehical with help of an CVT car can be driven.

I am using NI-MH 4Ah battery. overall weight of car (model) wil be around 4-5 Kg.

wel in model i am using a planetory gear box....which is coupled wit motor shaft via a centrifugal clutch.

i hv jst received a mail frm NEX robotics Mumbai. He is having an 120amp ESC ready in stock.

All this is very weird. Pushing 4-5 Kgs with that motor will be quite difficult. And NiMH batteries won't fit the bill if you need the motor to reach its full potential.

Cm, if you are planning to drive your vehicle, directly with a DC motor, it is not need to use a clutch.. and you can pull about 10 or 20 Kgs with a brushed motor, by reworking on it.. with a simple heavy duty gear box, the vehicle will performs nicely.. you can choose a 5 pole motor, for reworking.. so, it will drain a little current, while pushing a big load.. you can also make a traction control circuit for a good performance..  :thumbsup:

Thanks sir. For ur knowledgeable information. Bt i am only making a small model at present. at the tym of big scale i will definatly use the motor u said. and yes i have planed to coupled motor with a planetory gear box which will also act as a CVT to the vehicle. thanks sir.
