Was inspired by VC's hovercraft so planned on making one for myself since quite a while.

I have used scrap items like "no parking" sign coro board, leftover wood at home , scrap bits of depron , diwali rocket sticks and big bazar zip ties :D. So model cost is almost nil , except for hot glue maybe.

Electronics used:
Motor : CF 2812 1500 kv
Prop : 6X3
ESC : HK 18A
Radio : HK 4ch
Battery : 2200mah 3s
Servo : HXT 900

All electronics can be removed without any effort for use in other models , including the servo.

I made this just to test the principle and work on improvements. I have learnt a lot and still am.

Model is entirely made from coro. I have used small depron strips instead of cloth for skirt - it has worked well both indoors and terrace rough concrete (front part gets slightly eroded on concrete as the model touches the concrete and slides for a while when throttle is cut). Motor mount is made using teak beeding - the thrust broke the mount on first attempt itself so i have used a support strut.

I plan to make a smooth base - the rocket sticks affect air flow below so will cover it up with cardboard or something.

The video is at less than half throttle. I love the way it blows dust away when used outdoors :D

Any suggestions are welcome.

Great!!.  i think you can use the packing foam around the edges and bottom and it can become immortal!
Is it going straight with just throttle and no control input? Try using a gyro on the yaw, it will be more fun!

Thanks RC , ved , foamy :)
No its not going straight, without control input it goes in circles. Inbuilt failsafe :D Need to make a lot of adjustments.

Thats great, keep them coming. Make a ramp and run it over the ramp onto a soft landing ofcourse, that should be fun

Is it actually hovering or sliding ?

Exactly . I see no mechanism for generating a hover - No compressor, no skirting.

Well the model doesnt touch the floor so i guess its hovering :) Skirting is in the form of depron :D  From the pic you can see that the cellotape is intact (blue) everywhere except the front. This is because i run it on rough concrete surface, on terrace. When ever i cut throttle the front scrapes and then it comes to a stop. In guessing this is because of battery weight which is towards the front. The entire model weight is 375gms (battery weight = 185gms).

I have cut the model into a smaller one with some modifications like a smooth base,  to be used with a much lighter battery. Waiting to go collect a dean connector from Ashok for the battery (800mah 2s). Now the model weight is 170gms+ battery weight (50gms for 800mah). Will work on it once my coll tests are done.

As of now i have broken the prop 3 times - hit the curtain. Iv fixed the same prop 3 times using feviquick :D Seems to work fine but the esc heats a little - by the slightest amount.
